DUBAI IS TRYING TOO HARD
if you ask me, they could care less about the design. this design, if real , is unremarkable, and useless.
they go for worlds tallest everything, they can have the title of course. but do they have class? or, gasp...good taste? no to both questions.

the design id gorgeous what the hell are you talking about, or are you one of these peoples that only finds cuboids with a solid glass surface attractive?

unremarkable definately not,
useless?? all skyscrapers are useful, if they can house people they have a use.
define class in architecture and how it differs from good taste. this has both in my dictionary.

You're avoiding the question.

I just hate it when an Anti-Dubai and a Dubai-fapper go at each other :P

What are you on about? Boston is a far classier and tasteful place than Dubai!

Indeed. Cities that have character are that way because they've been around for hundreds of years. Dubai will be the same one day, but not yet. It's not classy as of yet because it's not established enough. Everything is too new, clean, organised etc. Sporadic planning and environments (if that ever happens - everything seems too well-planned) will make the city great though!

Regardless, what they're doing in Dubai right now is like nothing we've ever seen before!

boy am i bored of this thread... let me know when its under construction, and anyone else please find a dubai v boston thread in the city discussions this has got beyond a joke.

dubai guys i love the way you keep us updated on all the proposals, but if every thread degenerates into this kind of crap its best left alone, just tell us when they are under construction, and let the moronic american skyscraper (semi) enthusiasts wait. moderators you may as well lock this thread it aint gonna get any better

What's with a Dubai v Boston argument? It's as pointless as comparing a man and woman for beauty.

This building looks great. Anybody that thinks otherwise obviously haven't seen what passes for high-rises 99% of the time.
