That's a lot of steel!
it could almost be 'concrete reinforced steel' instead of 'steel reinforced concrete'!
the shape of the core is certainly interesting, and looks surprisingly small considering it will have half a km of building above it.

In Dubai things change all the time. They could very well add the spire in the middle of construction just as Burj Dubai changed height during construction. For me it doesn't make a difference. The building is beautiful either way!

Incredible to see how they can arrange the steel with such pace.

The site looks awesome and just about ready to move upwards!

So what is going on now? Are they pouring the core, or still assembling steel?

I'm no construction expert, but it looks like they are compressing all that material (that's pouring out of that large container) to the floor. That guy with the pink thing over his left shoulder, with the small yellow machine, is doing all the compressing, I guess. The others are just spreading it all around.

Looks to me that it is a little thicker, more dry concrete to pour a skewed floor (don't know the exact english word for it) over which cars can drive down the basement. As you can see in the first pic they already poured some small walls or something, they're working with an incredible speed!

I wouldn't be surprised to see some formwork for the core within a few weeks!

Is 'ramp' the English word you are looking for?

Almost the same word in Dutch, ironically.

Look at all that steel! The core looks like it is begining to form! With this speed it will probably be 5 floors or more above the ground by the end of this year. When you look at the site from this time last year, there has really been a lot of progress.

I think it'll be much higher than just a mere 5 floors at the end of the year. Should be street level by spring. If they can go a floor every 1-2 weeks, that would mean at least ~20 floors by the end of the year. Maybe more.

Good enough. The height makes it a little bit taller than Taipei 101.
