[Poznan, Poland] Old Brewery - the most beautiful mall?
At march 11th there was the opening of second phase of Old Brewery (Stary Borwar).
Stary Browar -- a city within a city, combines commerce and art, history and the present, singularity and everyday life. The retail area borders the Courtyard of Art, which hosts events connected with painting, sculpture, theatre, music, dance, happenings and film. Thanks to this blending of space, ideas and people, a new style of city life has arisen. One has to be there - to watch, to listen, to feel and... to participate in the creation of an exceptional atmosphere. "Stary Browar is an estate located on a hill in the very centre of Poznań. The shopping, art and business centre has been built upon a place where beer was brewed in the past. The potential of this location determines the success of the enterprise. The magic of the place is on its side!" -- Grażyna Kulczyk Exclusive Shareholder of Stary Browar investor Fortis Sp. z o.o. The implementation of the Stary Browar investment was the result of the revitalisation of the former Hugger Brothers' Brewery, an estate over one hundred years old, the beginnings of which date back to 1844 when Amrosius Hugger, a brewer from Wirtembergia in Germany, settled in Poznan. Construction cost (only part 2) up to 70 mln eur. It has 57 000 sq meters. And some photos: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Enjoy! Its different but not what i would call pretty, a bit too stark and cold (but then i suppose thats what shopping is about).

It's nice enough but it seems as though very little of the original building remains; frankly, I think it lacks a bit in character.
