Do you know if restriction on the number of occupants will not apply at weekends on these HOV lanes, as it happens on the HOV roadway of A-6 in Madrid?

I mean, there are two different signs on A-6:

HOV roadway

Roadway for cars and buses, no matter the number of occupants. It applies at weekends.

The press release said the restriction will apply always, but they may remove it at the beginning or the ending of long holidays if big congestion is expected.

On regular days, HOV lanes will be eastbound in the morning, and westbound in the evening. On weekends they may work differently, but the 3+ restriction will still apply.

Spain opened 130 kilometers of new autovías and autopistas this year according to my records. Which is considerably below the average of 485 kilometers per year from 1994 to 2010.

Of course, the main network is more or less completed, even though the most important missing links (A-7 Andalucía, A-8 Cantabria-Galicia and A-66) appear to be progressing very slowly.

Are there more motorway openings we can anticipate this year?

A-23 on Monrepos pass is advanced, but sure for 2013. It is an important pass including a several km. tunnel

A-12 had a little strech open and someones remain under construction. But I would think also in 2013...

A-8 between Llanes and San Roque is scheduled to open Friday (one carriageway was already working since July). Next openings should be A-40+TO-21 Torrijos-Toledo and SE-40 from A-92 to A-376. Both are ready to be opened, though there's not an official opening date yet.

I believe that T-11 from C-14 to A-7 will be upgraded to autovia this 2012.

I was there in late March this year and they didn't seem to take it very seriously, but I may be wrong. Time will tell. There's a stretch of A-27 that is scheduled to open in 2012, too.

A-32 Ibros-Úbeda may also open this year, as it's fully ready. Other U/C stretches which completion date is 2012 are A-8 Muros-Dueñas, or A-60 to Valladolid airport.

Went on a roadtrip last Monday (Barcelona local holiday), and recorded pretty much everything I could

First video is C-16 Terrassa-Manresa. Don't miss the views on Montserrat mountain!

You're right, but in the last 2 months they have been quick and today is almost finished.

Nice video, congrats.

What bothers me most is that some engineers in Spain laughed at the Chinese.

Difference is that in China it collapses after 1 year due to overweight trucks. This viaduct has been in place for at least 20 years and is now swept away after torrential rainfall.

Water.

It happens always in these days and near the Mediterranean. It is not as the Monsoon but it is a very strong storm season.

Every year there are some roads that have to be built again. But when it is a major road the news is greater.

In the south problems have been worst.

I don't know if your answer was intended to me, but I was asking if there are deaths and/or injured.

No one there as I think, one person in Andalucia inside a town.

About this road, a news in TVE.

But both are very serious human error that could cause death. In this case it was a serious undermining of the foundation. Would have to know in detail the project and how the collapse has occurred to assess the causes.
