Expect the works to be stopped now .

Nice video of C-58 Barcelona - Sabadell. Includes the new HOV (Bus?) flyovers.

Nice! Opening has been posponed to next Monday. Can't wait to drive over C-58!

A video I made of N-II in southern Girona province. It features A-2 roadworks, which are stopped since 2007. Latest news is that they were re-awarded last Tuesday, which was about the time I shot this.

I inform the video is replaced by this one, because the former has some editing problems (missing signals)

A piece of advice for our Catalonian colleagues: Driving through HOV lanes with a strange passenger.

I reckon he will spend more time preparing the "passenger" even than saved time using the HOV lane

Opened!

HOV lanes will be operated southbound from 6.30am to 1pm and northbound from 4pm to 10pm. They will be closed at other times of the day, and they may be opened in holidays if large movements of people are expected.

That photo shows how futile HOV lanes are. If they opened it to all traffic, all traffic would be moving instead of only a few vehicles. HOV lanes almost never make sense. Even in the United States they generally carry only 50% of traffic of regular lanes.

In my humble opinion the HUV lanes shouldn't be thought to increase the average speed but to encourage people sharing cars or using public transport.

I know people who do not take public transport just not to be aware of schedules... and maybe they will save only a couples of minutes per day

If a HOV lane ever gets to carry 50% of traffic I think that they should increase the minimum number of passengers as it would loose its sense...

They should allow vehicles with 2 passengers to use these lanes, not only 3. It is really difficult to find not one but two commuting partners.

Creating HOV/Bus lanes for siginificant length does only worth if this lane carries at least so many people in rush hours like the remaining lanes each.

The first stretch of A-60 (Valladolid-León) opened yesterday. It's 7,3 kilometers long and goes from Puente Villarente to LE-30 motorway. Some pictures from diariodeleon.es:

With Valladolid-Villanubla stretch almost ready to open too, what's most needed of this motorway will be ready soon.

I drove C-58 HOV lanes yesterday. Here's a video.

There was a police check on the purpose-designed bay, which slowed me down enough not to gain any time over traffic on general-purpose lanes. I arrived at the first traffic light at par with the van I was driving aside just before entering HOV lanes; with a little more traffic I would had actually lost time. Guess it will be a wholly different story at rush hour (video was filmed at 11.30 am), but the emptiness of the HOV carriageway is still obvious.

Notice that buses are banned from entering HOV lanes by the left lane on the main carriageway; instead, they have to exit the motorway at the previous junction and use the ramp that also uses traffic coming from this junction (the only one of these lanes). They have to exit the same way; no traffic lights or actually getting off the motorway involved.
