yes it is... but obviously not easy. The best days are those ones in winter when snowed and a sunny day.

About Moncayo from Zaragoza, somewhere in the thread there is a fantastic picture!.

Its supposed to be finished for the summer of 2013. There are 5M Euros in the budget of 2013 to finish the last viaduct

Driving C-32 motorway from Mataró to its northern terminus in Tordera. It is supposed to be extended to Lloret via a single-carriageway road, but it is unclear when this will happen.

It's 2x3 but seems kinda empty; what is the AADT of the C-32?

C-32 links all coastal towns north and south of Barcelona together. The part in the video is the least busy, 45.000 - 19.000 vehicles per day on average. The busiest part is just south of Barcelona with 130.000 vehicles per day.

It is something that repeats itself all over Spain, empty tolled motorways with the alternative roads overcrowded. Unfortunately the average Spaniard is not very wealthy so few can afford the tolls, this a country where 60% of the working population earn less than 1000 euros a month, to then spend 50-100 euros every month on tolls in not an option for average José.

C-32 is not exactly empty. Traffic counts in Alella are way over 100.000 vehicles per day, and they are not lower than 10.000 except for the last tiny section between Malgrat and Tordera. I happened to shoot the video in a very quiet Sunday afternoon, but it gets really busy in other times of the day. Same happens with other Catalan toll freeways, toll roads have been no failure here.

N-II is crowded (60.000 vehicles per day in El Masnou), but this is due both to avoiding tolls and to the huge local traffic in this corridor.

Opening of AG-31 in Galicia (near Celanova) has been postponed again. It will open in the first quarter of 2013. It was originally planned for May 2012 and then October 2012, both deadlines were not met.

The same for A-73 between Burgos and Quintanaortuño. Hopefully, the first 10 km will open before April 2013.

It doesn't look like any important stretch.

The second stretch of SE-40, from A-92 to A-376, has also been sent back to next Spring. It's already finished, but the contractor doesn't want to deliver it until they get paid from Fomento.

Are you sure is not the contrary? Goverment don't have money and don't want to receive the stretch until they have money to pay (in the next year budget)

What's the overall opinion of Ana Pastor as minister of Fomento?

Wow, I hadn't really thought about it. Guess I'm not sure

Her public appeareances are way scarcer than other ministers', such as employment or finance. I guess most people don't even know her.

My opinion is that she and her cabinet are turning this country into a mess of unreliable promises and unfinished works, but infrastructure expenditures are not my main concern right now. Same for most of the Spanish. We don't think she should be hung in the middle of a town like other ministers.

And when she publishes information in the official bulletin she makes hard mistakes about towns locations...

One carriageway of viaducto de Artedo was opened 3 days ago. With a total length of 1100m and a maximum height of 110m it has become the highest and longest viaduct in Asturias.

During construction:

After being opened:

You can compare it with the old viaduct for N-632. In this video, they drive through it: http://www.rtpa.es/asturias:Abierto-...355485338.html

Side note; this is part of A-8 west of Aviles. Has the entire missing link between Muros de Nalón and Lamuño opened?

A-66 Benavente - Zamora

Fomento has contracted the construction of the missing link of A-66 between Benavente and Zamora. Construction should be executed in 24 months, so we're looking at an opening most likely in early 2015.

If I understand correctly, it is a "shadow toll" road, which means the government pays tolls for every vehicle over a span of 30 years, whereas the concessionaire constructs and maintains the road during that time. There are several other shadow toll roads in Spain, notably the CM-42 (Autovía de los Viñedos).
