I drove there on friday and sunday indeed and sunday night I wrote something in the Spanish forum about this stretch and saying it was ready to be opened.

It is a small stretch and looking forward Jaca we will find a bottleneck. After 3 km motorway, there is road again and later motorway again, thus possible congestion.

A-23 is running quite slow on works... but it remains on works.

I am pretty sure we will have 4 more km this summer... but next ones will have to wait

No, and Google maps is out of date.
It is just simple... paralel to current N-330, begining in a roundabout and ending more or less in the N-260 cross

Yes, it is, and honestly I do not know if the whole one or part of it.

I've read in one news 3 km only. I think they are 5 and I assume that the whole of it

VA-30 Valladolid

The last segment of the VA-30 opened to traffic today. It's a 13.1 km segment from A-11 to A-62. Its cost was € 126 million, or € 9.6 million per kilometer. This completes the bypass of Valladolid, traffic can now bypass the city by autovía from all directions. The older segments of VA-30 opened in 2010.

It's quite amazing, despite Spain having some of the worst economic situations in Europe, they continue to build autovías at a pace faster than most other EU countries. Although the Spanish motorway budget is actually smaller than that of the Netherlands, the low cost to build autovías allows for a decent amount of projects.

I do not know the area but I do know that it will help movements from Madrid to somewhere in the north avoiding a long tour in Valladolid.

Some people preferred to give a tour via Tordesillas and avoid that tour. Maybe congestion will be less nowadays.

And think that you are avoiding part of congestion (only partially) in the Paris-Lisbon route

I didn't even know that "seasonal closures" happened in Spain. Of course I've heard of some mountain passes being closed for a few days, but nothing scheduled.

Yes, there are closures but they are not stational but just some days. It depends about how much it snows.

My mother (and half of my family) live there and I live not far from Central Pyrenees. If anyone wanna know EXACT data, just ask because sometimes you read about a total closure and it is totally opened.

For instante, San Glorio mountain pass, 1605 mosl, in the N-621 Leon-Santander.

I've crossed it on Christmas Eve with my siblings (yeah, we were crazy but wanted to visit some friends), -11ºC, slowly in some points due to ice on road and no cars in about 40 km... but it was opened and we crossed it.
The same mountain pass can be close due to snow for five days for instance.

The budget even has increased since 2012! But there are more important things to focus in now than road construction. At least we are better than Portugal and Greece, I think of the former as the past (30 years ago) and of the latter as... the 3rd World .

Madrid via A-62 is actually 3 kilometers longer than via VA-30 / A-601

Thus it may depend where in Valladolid you go to choose one or another way

In addition, A-11 is slowly going on, and VA-30 joins A-11 with the north.

A-11 will be the fastest way Barcelona-Porto

Some time ago I said a National road can be anything from a 4 lane expressway (almost motorway) like N-330 just North of Zaragoza, to a goat path like N-260 through the Ventamillo gorge (There are better local roads than that). The former is part of my commute (not now, though), while I'll be going through the later tomorrow. The best thing is that there's a bus doing the route Zaragoza-Benasque twice a day which gets both sections in it!

I've been in that bus several times and remember when they cross with a truck. They must stop and consider which vehicle is easier to advance first.

Sometimes buses and trucks talk via radio within them to know where they are in the gorge and they know the best places to cross themselves (N-260)

A new super two opened to traffic on the island of Tenerife. It's a supercarretera, or vía rápida from Icod de los Vinos to El Tanque on the northern side of Tenerife. It's an extension of TF-5. It's part of a project to build a full circular highway around the island.
