Where the hell is that section? I supposed it's here (upgrade of existing N344):

A33: Jumilla-North – Jumilla (A31) 12 13km (? to 2016) – ? – map

Edith: Maybe mistaken with this section :

A33: La Font de la Figuera (A35) – Caudete (A31) 12 12.5km (? to 2014) – ? – map
Looks like we have a bit of a mess with A-33

This motorway has five sections:

Blanca - Albarán (12,4 kilometers, opened 2012)
Albarán - Jumilla (18,3 kilometers, opened 2012)
Jumilla - Yecla (23,4 kilometers, the one that's now U/C)
Yecla - A-31 (23,4 kilometers, not yet U/C)
A-31 - A-35 (12,5 kilometers, U/C and no official completion date)

That's all. The stretch between Jumilla and Yecla is divided in three substretches or "lotes"; you can see detailed information about them here (press release of the tendering). All three "lotes" have started construction simultaneously.

Hope this helps

A-2 opens today . See press release. Works had started back in 2007.

There will also be a ceremony for the beginning of the works for A-2 between Maçanet de la Selva and Sils (2,7 km).

There's no official completion date for either stretch of A-38. However, works are set to be restarted soon, so I guess 2016 is a feasible completion date. It's unofficial anyway. There's no press release from Fomento, only some news articles talking about it.

A2 was opened today (6km, 45 million €), see press release. The next 2.7km A2 section costs 21.3 million €.
Why is there no press release about A7 opening?

M-503, Majadahonda

A nearly 4 kilometer stretch of M-503 has been widened to 2x3 lanes between May and December 2014. The third lanes opened today. The M-503 has been widened to six lanes between M-40 at Pozuelo and M-50 at Majadahonda. The average daily traffic is 95,000.

RV should be celebrating this.

That was a fast project, Google Street View imagery is from June 2014 and very few works had been done back then.

There's no AP-2 in Girona, it's called AP-7. The aim of this project was to connect C-32 in Tordera with AP-7 in Girona, though the section between Tordera and Maçanet de la Selva will not be built (at least not by Fomento, we'll see if Catalan regional government does anything about it). That way Lloret and Blanes would be connected with their main source of tourists (France) with a motorway and not with crap N-II, which has 5 roundabouts and way too much traffic.

The last 4.2 kilometers of autovía A-8 in Asturias (Unquera - Llanes) will open to traffic next Monday (29 December). Mr. Rajoy himself will attend the ceremony.

I've driven over new "half" LO-20.
Short but nice to have a little stretch more

I drove the new stretch of A-2 (Sils-Caldes de Malavella) on Tuesday. Here's a video of it:

Video also features the new Fornells de la Selva (2013) and Vilademuls (December 2014) junctions on AP-7. With these, A-2 traffic can now bypass Girona on AP-7, toll-free, and then get back to N-II through a grade-separated interchange. A-2 is routed through AP-7, and both route numbers are used in signage and kilometer posts.

This is a huge relief for the Eastern bypass of the city, which was crowded. Now it will act as a distributor for local traffic using the roads going to the coast (C-65 and C-66). Also, the new stretch of A-2 feels like a Christmas miracle after having been U/C for 7 years now. I had mi license in 2007, so for me it's always been a mess.

The first stretch of A-57 near Pontevedra has been approved. It is a 6.5 km segment from Vilaboa to A Ermida southeast of Pontevedra. A-57 is a new autovía planned to run from A-52 near Ponteareas to north of Pontevedra. It will bypass Pontevedra on the east, and provide a toll-free alternative to AP-9.

Near Ponteareas? It doesn't even appear in the map.

The contract was finally formalized today, see press release. The section has a length of 5.02km and costs 19.68 million €. There are two interchanges, two ecoducts, one underpass and one bridge over a little river.

When should the works begin, immediately (January) or later?

In May 2015 we have regional polls (in 15 regions but Castilla y Leon have them) and local poll
In November 2015 we have national poll.

All civil works must be finished two months in advance. Otherwise, they can "open" the road/motorway/anything but no press releases with politicians or so two months before polls.

So I would state that asap

After the 4,5 km opening in the A-8 this morning, all the Atlantic side in Spain is finished.

Despite it, A-8 is not finished because it will be a by-pass near Santander. You may use other motorways... but you can go corner to corner by a 2x2 or more

Here you are some pictures about this weeks and last august situation
