This technology can be used for any speed limit. I think 60 km/h is only a test phase, in North America such toll systems are frequently employed at 100 - 130 km/h.

I like to drive the A66 to go north (Asturias/Galicia) because its less traffic and you can go at 120 km/h nearly all the time.

I have a friend that don't like to drive this motorway because "its near empty of cars!!!", and she likes traffic when driving so when she has to go north she drives A4-M50-A6.

Have driven in A-23, north Monrepos and seen how works are going on.

Today was holiday in Spain but even seen some workers, not many, maybe because holiday.

There are some points where I would say it is definitely carriage where we are just using and will try to shift from one to other carriages until a 2x2 or so.

I guess that not before 2019 but in next month, small streches will be opened if they can join with current road and just remain a 1x1

CM-42 Autovía de los Viñedos

CM-42 is a 127 kilometer long autovía operated by the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha. It runs from Toledo to Tomelloso and opened to traffic in 2005. It is a shadow toll road.

N-502 Puerto del Pico

Puerto del Pico is a 1352 meter high mountain pass in Castilla y León, on N-502 between Talavera de la Reina and Ávila. Interestingly the CyL / CM border is not on the mountain range, but south of the Sierra de Gredos.

Works were suspended for a long time and only resumed recently. It should have opened in 2011.

Aside from the N-502, you can see here in this pic the roman road.

In fact, the Puerto del Pico mountain pass is not located on the drainage divide between the Duero and Tajo watersheds. It is just on the divide between the Tiétar (south, flowing westwards) and the Alberche (north, eastwards), but both are tributaries of the Tajo.

The true divide is the 1,564 metre high Puerto de Menga, located some km to the north. The Puerto de Menga, however, doesn't feature such a "mountain pass" feeling. It's in the middle of a treeless paramera and there are just a couple of curves.

It's curious because the area south of the Puerto del Pico is one of the hottest and rainiest of Castilla y León, and the area north of the Puerto de Menga is one of the coldest and driest.

The opposite case is the 1,444 m high Somosierra pass on the A-1 (highest motorway in Europe AFAIK). It is the watershed divide between the Tajo and the Duero, but both sides are located in Madrid (part of "Castilla la Nueva" [present-day Castilla-La Mancha] until 1982).

Hi, can you tell me what does the "SP" sign mean? I saw it on buses and taxis, so I suppose it's something about the vehicle is allowed for transporting passengers, but I'm not sure. My Spanish is quite poor so I can't even Google.
