And again, as I always like to point out, C-32 between exits 31 and 41 (that is to say, roughly 10 km) has a cost of €6.68. If you use Via-T on weekdays, the cost is then reduced to €4.68.

I don't know if the cost per km of the Sóller tunnel is higher, but I'm almost sure that the section of C-32 I mention (the one I regularly use) is among the most expensive ones in Spain.

If you see Soller with their mountain pass, they always said they were isolated.

Local citizens had (have) reductions and there is a local train (more used for tourism purposes but can be used for a journey to Palma)

In summer it was expected to be halted. Some parties were to court considering that amount to pay wasn't correctly calculated.

They lost and nowadays sum to pay is a little less (four months less to pay)

And.... Do you know where Teruel is?

The only mainland capital without train to Madrid has lost bus service on afternoon-evening except on sundays.

They have an early 7:30 service (6:30 three days per week direct one), and a 14:00 daily service, but only at 16:30 on sundays....

I took photos this afternoon from the road Mairena del Aljarafe-Almensilla, which goes through SE-40, concretely in this point: https://www.google.es/maps/@37.31093.../data=!3m1!1e3

Photos are in the link, if someone wants to post them here by uploading to a photo server, is free to do that:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/cIJO5KyMMMRFnbQU2

All photos have been taken from A-8054. First one shows the southeasternmost link, second one the southwesternmost link and third one the northwesternmost link, which is the only one without asphalt yet. Forth, fifth, sixth and last photo have been done looking to the north, and presumably, the end of these photos should belong to this another section:

The 7th photo is done looking to the south, and it surely shows section Almensilla-Coria del Río

A-11

Now that the end of the year is approaching, it's time to look at some motorways projects whose opening is supposed to take place in 2018. Let's start with several sections of A-11 in Castile and Leon:

A11: Fresnillo de las Duenas – Langa de Duero 21.4km (2009/10 to September 2019) [contract canceled] – ? – map
First of all, let me say I'm afraid we'll have to stick to the official sections (i.e. shorter than those on MichiH's list), because openings are very likely going to take place separately.

There are 3 different sections here:

El Burgo de Osma-East - Santiuste (9.4 km): 70% degree of execution. Opening in 2018.
Santiuste - Venta Nueva (17 km): 20% degree of execution (they found some archaeological remains that need to be preserved). Unknown opening date.
Venta Nueva - La Mallona (6 km): 61% degree of execution. Opening in 2018.

There are 2 different sections here:

Langa de Duero - San Esteban de Gormaz (11.4 km): 33% degree of execution. Opening in 2019.
San Esteban de Gormaz - El Burgo de Osma-West (11.1 km): the construction company filed for bankruptcy in 2016. I couldn't find more information, but I guess that means its opening in the short term is uncertain.

Current degree of execution is just 5%. Construction needs to be tendered again.

A-23

No changes in dates here, but let's look at the current status of each section currently under construction:

I couldn't find any updated information, but this deadline is clearly not going to be met. Last week I drove by and, although most of the section is in tunnel, from what I could see works aren't that advanced so as to open it next month.

An opening sometime in 2018 is still likely, IMHO, but not in January, I can assure it.

AP-9

The widening of the Rande bridge, near Vigo, was officially inaugurated today. The project involved widening the old 2x2 bridge (opened in 1981) to a 2x3 configuration adding additional lanes at each side of the bridge. It had a cost of €190 M, also including the widening to 2x3 of 6 km of AP-9 between Teis and Morrazo interchanges.

And some videos by users of the bridge on its first day:

About A-23 it seems next spring we will have an opening between Caldearenas (north bound of tunnel) and Lanave (where works ends).

This is, we will have motorway-road-motorway-road...

anyway, cool. It is a hard point because a lot of cars cannot overpass going down in Monrepos and try to do it, sometimes dangerously.

Gipuzkoa

A truck toll will be introduced on N-I (A-1) and A-15 in Gipuzkoa province on 9 January:

http://www.diariovasco.com/gipuzkoa/...120557-nt.html

It will be an electronic truck toll with Via-T or registration.

It's meant to be a connection between N-550 and AP-9, as well as link the industrial park with these two roads. As usual, the cause of this road being finished but not open to traffic (because it lacks the roundabouts on its two ends) is that it involves several administrations (Fomento and Santiago city council) and they work at different speeds. The interchange with AP-9, which will be an elevated roundabout, is set to be built soon, but there are no tenders nor completion date. As for the junction with N-550, it was going to be built by the council of Santiago, but they claimed they had insufficient funds and asked Fomento to do it. Fomento has yet to decide whether they will build it or not.

All in all, it doesn't look like this situation will be over soon. Meanwhile, AP-9 around Santiago is being widened to 2x3, and another new junction (with A-54) is planned to start construction in the short term. This is the last news article I found about this issue.
It looks like that unused expressway will be extended after all, with a roundabout-interchange on AP-9 and an extension to A-54.

AP-9

The widening of the Santiago de Compostela bypass (8.5 km) on AP-9 (from 2x2 to 2x3 or 2x4, depending on the section) was officially opened today. It had a cost of €84.8 M.

I think this is one of the cases where you pay the complete cost of a longer stretch with free cost of part of it.

Reading the official fares table, the administrative concession of C-32 seems to start at Exit 53 (near Barcelona Airport). Besides, at the other side of Garraf Tunnels the freeway is also free until Exit 21 (Vilanova i la Geltrú N. / Vilafranca). That is around 34km, what seems more reasonable.
https://www.autopistas.com/sites/default/files/Coorporativa/18_003_aucat_c32_castelldefels-vendrell_web18_0.pdf

A similar case is AP-6 around Guadarrama Tunnel. If you use it, the stretch with mandatory toll is only 9km long, but the 4,40€ you are paying are actually from concession start at Exit 42, what is around 19km.

Yes, I understand it, but I find it very unfair anyway.

I live in Sitges (exit 31) so when I just go to Castelldefels (exit 41), if I use the motorway, I pay as much as somebody going from Vilanova to Barcelona.

They should implement some kind of electronic tolling system to make drivers pay for the distance they’re actually driving on the motorway.

I believe that is already done on C-33. On one of his recent videos verreme stated if you enter from C-59 towards Barcelona, if paying via electronic tolling (Via T) you only pay that section and not all the way from AP-7.

It must be then thanks to these "gates" (I don't know its technical name):

https://www.google.es/maps/@41.52444...7i13312!8i6656

A former regional minister announced a similar system for C-32 south between Sitges and El Vendrell, and some of these gates have actually been installed in the last years on several C-32 exits, but as far as I know they haven't been activated. This one for example is located in Segur de Calafell (exit 10). If it worked, drivers entering C-32 there could pay in the Cubelles toll plaza less than drivers coming from AP-7.

Between 42k and 52k, according to this piece of news:

Quote:
El objetivo, según ha destacado Rajoy este miércoles en su discurso, es "resolver el cuello de botella" que se producía en este punto, en la circunvalación de la capital gallega, que soporta un tráfico diario de unos 42.000 vehículos con picos de más de 52.000.
