I saw those very lovely EMU's in Zagreb. Unfortunately I only spent five minutes there, as I had very little time before my train to Ljubljana departed!

Nice pics, CrazySerb.
On first pic you can see how they did renovation of KT4 trams. They are all repainted, and they have modern interior with new seats. Also they got new displays and this white thing on the roof is air condition.

Now they are like new trams

Video is very interesting, the driver of the tram is definitely very skilled at his job, or maybe there is a lot of luck on the job?
In any case, thank you for the interesting video.

Discussion on integrated public transport in Zagreb

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure in order to improve public transport services and transport service providers survive today held discussions on integrated public passenger transport in the city of Zagreb.

Integrated public transport meant to unite all types of traffic in a single transport system, a single transport tickets, to create a tariff union, regular departures and promotions for high-quality information to citizens, and also to contribute to the emergence and alternative forms of transportation, such as bicycling.

Benefits of an integrated public transport introduced Borna Abramovich, head of the Department of Railway Traffic Traffic Engineering Faculty, adding that the end-users of public transport meant that a large number of lines and greater mobility.

Equally important would be for the carriers, he said, which would enter into such a model could allow long-term business planning, contracts for at least seven years, which would eventually bring stability in work and higher incomes.

Would greatly benefit the local administration and the optimal subsidies and cheaper maintenance of roads, and the advantage would be felt in the economy by increasing the gross national income and labor mobility, said Abramovic.

He pointed out that for the realization of such a model of transportation necessary to define the problem, develop a statistical-based documentation, provide for the transportation, and then build a model based on the data. The most important prerequisite stressed the necessity of cooperation among all the participants.

As an example of good practice cited is the capital of Styria, where there are two companies with 64 carriers and cover an area of approximately 1, 2 million inhabitants. Their task is integration of suburban trains, trams and buses, the formation of a joint ticket, as well as special discounts. To citizens, and all users of public transport were more mobile and easier to change modes of transport, to all points of view there are elaborate information systems.

However, the debate could be heard in the EU countries have well established infrastructure, which is one of the prerequisites for setting up an integrated transport. So although Croatia, in its operational program implements a number of transport projects from EU funds related to the reconstruction of existing and construction of new transport infrastructure, waiting for the long process of preparing the conditions, it was concluded.
