snupix
thanks

lets be honest LRT is tram ansd nothing more tram on it's right of way now is called LRT but in reality it's just tram and nothing more.

for example when you ride a car in the city you call it car and when you run this car on interstate you call it transit car? this is ridiculopus

LRT is tram and nothing more I find stupid the people inventing new names on transport with existing beautifulnames. ah good.

but I like the extentions and most of all I like that Zagreb trams run very fast at least 80 km/h new trams.

Thx sterlinglush...

@Tramwayman: I agree, LRT is not a big improvement to the tram system today. I think in that case it would just be easier and ceaper to put some parts of the current network underground (like some stations in Vienna) and it would do for now... It would be a very, very big improvement. And we also have an east-west and centre-southwards elevated railway track, so it could also be used (more than it is today) for the city mass transit. But apparently no one in the city government sees that (nor anything else concerning public transport...)

Here's also a complete (homemade) map of Zagreb urban public transport (without suburban lines) - rail, tram and buses (and the poor cable car that is waiting for some better times):

Peron # = Platform # = Bahnsteig # (in this case, number 3)

I was sure it wasn´t related with General J. D. Perón, but had no idea of its meaning. Thank you.

We'll see. Here, it's operating within Atron traffic management system (vehicle location, station displays, station announcments etc.), so it might be different. The machines themselves aren't so important.

BUT, there have been a lot of problems withe the Atron system (and mainly because of the lack of engineers to deal with it, not because of the system itself), so I'm not so sure that this will go smoothly.

Btw, some opinions say that this system is useless, since 75% of the people in Zagreb ride for free (all students and retired people) so the question is who will actually be using the system and was it worth it.

As much as I know, the problem in Sofia was that machines were taxing people "randomly". i.e. you have 10 units and istead of taking 1 unit, the machine takes you 4 Anyway, the whole "units" to travel system there is quite dumb on my opinion...

As of today: 108 in service, 109 delivered.
