Thanks
So, when can we expect all 140 to be delivered? It seems to me that this is going rather slow lately...

In about 9-10 months, i.e. by the end of 2009.

@ snupix

That's from Sljeme, right?

I went with this one on FIS Ski female slalom race on Sljeme. It was going surprisingly easy to the top of the hill. Especially considering narrow roads and snow there. They had longer MAN's and Merc's driving as well.

Hi just joined this Forum and came across your thread, very informative. I have been to Zagreb many times and actually visited the ZET Garages, very impressive. Love the trams, I just have one question.....how realiable are those MB buses?

As far as I know, very reliable, much more than any other brand so far, excluding MAN, which has the reputation of being the best.

I love the MB design, and the build quality of both MB and MAN is on a very high level, higher than the new Iveco Irisbus buses which are the youngest in our fleet.

P.S. A short version of the 2200 tram has been delivered. As soon as it exits the garages and starts test rides, expect photos here.

I contacted Crotram 2 years ago about bidding on a tram contract here in Toronto, but sadly they never submited a bid.......too bad because the trams look fantastic and I would have loved to have a Cro tram here in Canada and a chance to work on them.

What is the longest bus route ZET has? Are there any Natural Gas or Hydrogen buses in the fleet?

I don't know, probably some suburban line. Some of them are, I think, up to 40km long.

All new Iveco Irisbus buses are Natural Gas. There are 60 of them (40 articulated, 20 short):

The sad news is that all 60 of them are parked in the garage for more than 4 weeks now because the only Gas filling station is not functioning (and nobody can tell for how long... )

Is the plan for a metro in Zagreb going to happen or is it just a fairy tale?

There are now 142 low-floor TMK 2200 trams operating in Zagreb.
140 longer trams with 5 moduls and 2 shorter versions with 3 moduls for less frequency lines.
There is a plan to order more shorter version trams but it is probably not going to happen in the near future.

New EMU train for Zagreb suburbian transport was presented few days ago. It is also made by Croatian firm Končar and 18 of these are ordered.

Tramcar TMK 2200

TMK 2200 is a 100% low floor tram with articulated car body, made of three or five-part welded steel construction with two or three powered bogies.
