Don't really know, but as Halawala stated, the terminal will be very much over 500,000 square meters, so it will be smaller then DXB's terminal 3, but still big.

But i read somewhere there is still space for further expansion, and/or space for a different terminal.

wow, just visited the official website of the new airport (www.ndiaproject.com), the interior design & the facilities is jaw-dropping! It is already one of my favorite airport in the world and it hasnt even open yet! lol

According to wiki & the official website of the new airport, the main terminal will be the third biggest airport terminal building in the world once it is completed (both 3 phases) with over 590,000m², just after Dubai T3 (over 1,500,000m²) & Beijing T3 (986,000m²)!

RM740mil extra jobs for Gamuda JV at new Doha airport

PETALING JAYA: Gamuda Bhd said the Sinohydro-Gamuda-WCT Joint Venture has been awarded additional works and settlement worth 760 million Qatari riyals (about RM740mil) for the New Doha International Airport (NDIA) project.

The joint venture is developing the RM2.6bil NDIA.

The NDIA steering committee had, on July 30, agreed to award to the joint venture additional works and settlement in respect of all the outstanding counter-proposals for the variation orders, contractor’s claims and scope changes under the airport contract.

Gamuda told Bursa Malaysia with all previous variation orders issued by the NDIA under the contract and this award, the total contract value was now 3.362 billion riyals (about RM3.27bil) from the original contract sum of 1.798 billion riyals (about RM1.75bil).

“The completion date for the (NDIA) project has been extended to January 2011,” the company said.

Gamuda noted that the award was expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets for the financial years 2010 to 2011.

The Sinohydro-Gamuda-WCT Joint Venture is an unincorporated joint venture between Gamuda, Sinohydro Corp and WCT Engineering Bhd, on 60:25:15 basis.

Gamuda-WCT tie-up sets safety milestone
Published: 2009/09/14

The joint venture company of Gamuda Bhd (Malaysia) and WCT Bhd (Malaysia) , the main contractor for the new Doha International Airport (NDIA) project in Qatar achieved a safety milestone when it reached l8 million "man-hours without a lost time incident" as at September 2009.

"Construction of the project commenced in January 2006 and has been progressing positively for the last 3 years without a single safety health lost time incident," said Gamuda in a statement today.

It said the milestone achievement reflected positively on Gamuda's corporate philosophy as safety, health and environment were top priorities in the company's operations.

Gamuda said the group has consistently improved its track record in the international industry since having achieved the 12 million "man-hours without a lost time incident" last year.

There are about 300 Malaysian nationals working on the NDIA project. -- Bernama

That's good. I certainly aren't interested in seating at the luggage handling facilities.
