Anyone knows the latest update on the Nasugbu-Ternate roadlink construction? This definitely will improve the driving time from Manila to Hamilo Coast and other Nasugbu beach resorts as it will bypass the heavy traffic of Tagaytay.

That's why I bit the bullet in purchasing an investor unit at HC. I wish I can buy a Nuvali property too.

I heard that HC will be installing solar panels and even wind turbines, however I kinda wonder why only high end projects can afford this since theoretically renewable energy can save you money (I think Nuvali also uses renewable energy).

yeah, this will really cut down the travel time. i went early last saturday morning and it still took me 2hrs+ to get to hamilo. also i was told that the ferry service will be operational within the year. this will be another good option as travel time will only be 1hr from MOA.

I did go there this weekend at medyo tapos na nga ang Myna B at nasa finishing stage na. Sana nga matuloy na ang turnover na April 1 but it seems like that might be delayed too. Mukhang marami pang gagawin sa Myna A dahil nandoon pa mga scaffoldings. Overall, the construction of the other buildings seems to be going on a faster pace. The Country Club seems to be in the finishing stage too and may soon have a soft opening. They were working on its swimming pools last weekend.

Amen to that. Sana bilis bilisan nila ang paggawa. Heavy traffic na naman sa Tagaytay this Holy Week and the rest of the summer.

Anyone else think this place will double in value in about 5 years? Just the newest building alone will be a minimum of 5M php for a unit. It's such a great investment!

This is a year old news but I hope that the Ternate-Nasugbu Road is really being expedited. It's disappointing to hear that 2011 pa ang expected completion when the President said last year that she expected the work to go 24/7.

PGMA orders DPWH to speed up construction of Nasugbu-Ternate Road, 300-meter long tunnel
NASUGBU, Batangas - President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ordered today the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to conduct round the clock work on the Ternate-Nasugbu Road Project with 300-meter tunnel that will connect the two coastal towns.

The President issued the directive to Public Works Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. during her visit to Barangay Papaya here for the groundbreaking of the tourism and agricultural road project to boost the world-class beach resorts in the two towns of Batangas and Cavite provinces.

“Sa mga magtatrabaho sa Ternate-Nasugbu Road at gagawa ng tunnel, good luck sa inyong lahat at 24/7 ang trabaho natin dito,” the President said in her brief message at the groundbreaking site.

Immediately after she landed at the Pico De Loro Cove, the President motored to the foot of Pico De Cero Mountain and led the lowering of the time capsule to signal the start the concreting of the remaining 6-km rough road, and construction of the 300 meter tunnel that will connect the towns of Nasugbu in Batangas and Ternate in Cavite to Metro Manila, which is approximately.

Assisting the President in the groundbreaking were Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, Public Works Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane Jr., Batangas 1st District Representative Aileen Ermita-Buhain, Public Works Undersecretary Ramon Aquino, Nasugbu Mayor Antonio Barcelon, and Ternate Mayor Adelardo Lindo.

In his welcome remarks, Nasugbu Mayor Antonio Barcelon thanked the President for her strong commitment to pursue the Ternate-Nasugbu Road Project.

The 60-kilometer road project will connect the two coastal towns of Ternate in Cavite and Nasugbu in Batangas.

He said the road was the pet project of then Batangas Representative and now Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita in the closing years of the term of former President Fidel V. Ramos.

The initial cost of the projects was placed at P745,180,799.98. It will cut across the agricultural land, scenic uninhabited forest of Maragondon Mountain and coastal areas within the boundary of Cavite and Batangas.

The two-lane road project will pass through the forested Pico De Cero Mountain into Nasugbu. When completed, the all-weather road is expected to boost economic activity in the towns of Ternate and Nasugbu and revive the glory of the world-class beach resorts in the area like Puerto Azul and Cablayne in Ternate.

It will also help enhance the living conditions of the thousand of residents through livelihood opportunities by providing fast and convenient transport of their local agricultural and marine products to commercial markets.

The DPWH said that the scope of the project includes the following: concreting/improvement of existing gravel road from Km. 94+112 to Km. 95+731 (1.619 km) including the construction of two bridges, namely; Sinalam and Kaysabong bridges; construction of new road from Km. 96+034 to Km. 99+991 (3.858 km.) including the construction of two bridges namely; Patungan and Tabe II; and thcde construction of Kaybiang tunnel from Km. 95+731 to Km. 96+034.

Q & A from the Hamilo Coast website:

How do we get to Hamilo Coast and how long is the travel time from Manila?

Hamilo Coast can be reached by the following transport means and approximate travel times:
By land via Tagaytay - 2.5 hours
By land via Ternate, Cavite (when completed) - 1.5 hours
By ferry from Mall of Asia Complex (when completed) - 1 to 1.5 hours
By helicopter from the Mall of Asia Complex - 20 minutes

When will the Nasugbu-Ternate Tourism Highway be finished?

Concrete works along the Nasugbu section (Wawa to Patungan) of the Nasugbu-Ternate Tourism Road has been completed. This is a 20-kilometer road network from Nasugbu town proper to the boundary of Nasugbu and Maragondon. This is the same road that takes land-based commuters from Manila to Hamilo Coast via Tagaytay. The Maragondon to Ternate section on the other hand, which is 8 kilometers in length, including a 250-meter tunneling section, has already been programmed for funding by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Its estimated date of completion is in 2011.

When will ferry services in the Mall of Asia Complex be operational?

Ferry service from the Mall of Asia Complex to Hamilo Coast is targeted to be operational by the first quarter of 2010.

Will the ferry service be exclusive to Pico de Loro Cove residents and members?

The ferry will service Hamilo Coast residents, club members, and guests.

Will there be a docking area for boats and yachts?

At Pico de Loro Cove, a pier for small boats (with a capacity of 15 persons) will be built. During the first phase of the cove's development, boats will be anchored off the periphery of the cove using mooring buoys. In the subsequent phases of the development, a Marina and a Yacht Club facility will be built in Papaya Cove. An access road from the Marina to Pico de Loro Cove will also be built.
