Yes, 'Swiss Re' is the gherkin. (When used in the correct context).

It was a nickname invented by the press which has become the popular name for the building across the city. Everyone would know what the Gherkin was - fewer would have heard of 30 St. Mary Axe.

No... the tallest is One Canada Square (the Canary Wharf Tower) at 235m.

I really think the Citigroup building is a nice tower. Much prefer it to the HSBC tower... although I must say 8CS is very nice inside. I prefer towers that have a podium or something to sit on.... 8CS just goes straight up.
