I guess that's another thing. I'm a kick-the-tires type buyer. I want to walk the floor. Inspect the view (and potential lack of). And so on. I've never lived in a building less than 5 years old. I figure if there is a major structural issue, it's bound to pop up then. I've been burned on the LP siding problems. Had friends up in Vancouver dealing with leaking windows. You just ever know. Makes me gun shy. |

How tall will these Twin Tower be!?
40 stories, so we can guess how many feet that is.

It's a 400' zone, but lately some buildings have been getting a little extra height for architectural roofs and mechanical. I don't know the parameters. I suspect these might be 420 or so.

I noticed some new equipment on this project's site as my bus went by this afternoon. I'm a total amateur, but it didn't look like start materials to me. (It looked just like some pipes -- earthmovers and those vertical drill machines seem to be the usual harbingers of real starts) Still, it's an interesting development. Maybe the site is being used for staging on some other project?
Does anyone who knows more about construction know what the pipes are for? |

Ew. Do we really want Vancouverish? It's so sterile, uniform, and perfunctory. I'd rather have Manhattanish, or even Torontoish.

No. We don't say that. You mean, "Thanks for correcting my English".

Misc points:
Many highrise condos take more like two years to build. Much depends on how aggressive they are in the construction process. Quicker might be substantially more expensive. SteveM, the type of equipment depends on what sort of shoring and excavation system they're using. Some require pile installation before drilling, while others are shored as they're excavated. I have no idea in this case. Actually I'm not an expert either. |

I don't think you understand that not everyone in Seattle having English as their first language. You possibly think they speak English perfect in person but not everyone of them can write in perfect English like some guys here. I can speak perfect English in person but unable to write perfect English. I am trying hard to have good English so everyone can understand me. I would appreciate if you step back and not criticize people's English while they're trying hard to have better English. If you want to help people with their English, you should message them in private instead embrassing them in the public. Thank you.

I walk by the site on the weekends and that same equipment has been in the same place for the last couple of weeks now. There might be something going on that we don't know, but there has not been any excavation that I am aware of.
