hey!!

that's so cool. quite simple-functional-modernist looking. this kind of design will stand the test of time/trend (will still look good in 5 years time). unlike most of kitschy glass-brick-mortar skyscrappers & apartment buildings in jakarta.

then again, it all depends on taste. if one prefers versace/gucci/pucci whatever than prada/jil sander, then it says alot about one's level of sophistication. don't you think?

Obviously tastes vary! I'm of the opinion that Nirvana Kemang is 1 hell of an elegant, clean, retro-modern, mod-squad type of design. One could argue that it harks back to the days of Hotel Indonesia (d original 1), but hey that's exactly why it stands out, coz it doesn't shout. It's a cool design. Wouldn't be out of place in Miami, Barcelona or Sydney! Let's hope it gets built w/ the quality material it deserves.
ciao tutti

The design is well thought not too over-exaggerated. I think that this is a change in the good direction.
But the surroundings of the development should be in harmony so no ugly european imitation houses or houses with Greek pillars. But a green environment with a park.

A lot of these houses can also be found in Buenos Aires.

I hope that they will build more of these projects not because of the size but because of the quality. Quality on a human-scale.

BTW passion4architecture it is good to see you back again you were absent for a long time.

Hi Marinho,
Yep. It's good to be back. I still monitor d forum regularly, but just haven't been posting much comments. This time I couldn't resist, coz I thought Nirvana Kemang is a cool looking design, different from d same-old same old, glass+concrete blocks.
ciao,

ha...ha...ha...

i thought i was going to bludgeoned to death for throwing a bit of sarcasm regarding other's taste. but apparently some people are actually agrees...

anyway, does anyone know the market value of any of the properties ? just want to make sure that it's going to be waaayyyy beyond my reach. ha.. ha...

good location, good design, would anyone know if this kemang area will be prone to flood? and also if any of the busway/metro plan will come anywhere near this area?

oh, and also, is this area close to that tiny cute cafe/bar casa?

There are many apartments like this in other part of South East Asia (my previous architectural company did an apartment similar to this)

Just wondering, though, given Jakarta's polluted air, would it actually be good relaxing at such altitude (I'm talking about the balcony/deck)?

ya ya...

but some people -unfortunately- need to be based in jakarta. and have you seen the GAUDY apartments on the market in jakarta????

this is infact, an aesthetic 'nirvana' in a place where nearly everything not so pleasant on the eye.

when i first saw this development i became curious, as my husband travels to jakarta a lot for business. we sent them an email (this is probably 3 months ago) and found out that the price for the corner unit with infiniti pool starts at us$450,000.
