ok, i saw some ~ 20 pics of goldman and i have to to qualify my statement: it's quite fat and massive, and i like massive buildings.

The curved facade is so beautiful.
NY's mix of classic skyscrapers with modern give it the world's most unique skyline. I don't know of any skyline that mixed so many Pre-WWII masterpieces with great modern towers.

Not your usual design, but I am almost sure I will like it when it's finished.

I've been watching this building go up on the Ground Zero webcams since April 2007, when it was still at street level, and never really paid much attention to it. Was even on the roof of WTC7 for several hours one night in September but barely glanced at the building even though I had a perfectly clear view of it. But, man, now that this thing is almost finished I am falling IN LOVE with this building! It will be a nice addition to downtown Manhattan.

I have a few questions though that I hope someone can answer. Does anyone know what the lower floors of the building will be used for? Retail? Trading floors? They seem much bigger than the upper floors, kinda like the lower floors of 2WTC. Is there going to be be any kind of public observation deck or restaurant at the top? Would be awesome since it's right beside the Hudson. Also, when is it supposed to open?

The entire building is for Goldman Sachs use. The floors 3-7 are trading floors. Also there is no observation deck or anything planned. All execs at the top.

This complements the WFC so well, you almost couldn't tell it's separate to the complex. It's going to look amazing when finished, and even more so when the World Trade Center complex is rebuilt. My only critique is that I don't like how there's a row of windows at the VERY top floor. It looks sort of awkward, but that's just me.

It should be noted, that the neighbor of this building, is a very interesting hotel with a central space that goes from about 1 floor above street level all the way to the roof & it's a skylight at the top. It has a theater, and several eateries. Across the street is 1 WFC, also with some nice places to shop and eat, and the waterfront is right there to the west not too far at all. I will try to get photos of this next time i'm up there which should be this friday.

This one? I agree the entire area is very nice; even considering moving there.

That's it. The awning from GS is all most touching it. Has a Chevy's, some other stuff. I don't think you can "live" there, it's an embassy suits hotel. There are a few residential buildings quite nearby though! By the way, the atrium is 2 heights. This one seen from the west, and then you go in towards GS under that flag, and it's the tower proper and it's like 23 floors or something, the angle on that image hides it all most completely! :P
