To me this really is the Toyota Camry of buildings: It simply serves it's pupose with moderatley good looks but overall it's simply blah and boring.

if you call this building boring, then 90% of the other sykscrapers (= boxes) going up right now must be mega-boring.

thats a new technique..instead of colorful neon lighting they go with the blitzkrieg approach. it steals the show at night.

Goldman Sachs is a very refined and beautifully designed building.

I hope someday those individuals who describe this building and others "boring" will attain the knowledge and sophistication to understand and appreciate the concept of the Elegance of Simplicity.

It seems there are people who must be 13 and 14 year old adolescents with no education in architectural history and design, who only esteem the dramatic and fantastical designs in Sci-Fi comic books. I am not trying to disparage anyone and I am sure that when I was 13 I admired only super futuristic looking buildings that were totally unlike anything built before. Comprehending understated elegance is something that comes with learning, maturity and sophistication.

The fact is, many skyscrapers - especially many of those being built in Dubai (not the Tower, though, that one is really nice!) are just plain ostentatious and tacky. Twenty years from now they will be regarded as kitsch and this building will be admired for years to come.

Or, perhaps people just have a different opinion and dislike the building for other reasons? I'm a huge subscriber to the "less is more" philosophy, but I don't call people who dislike certain buildings uneducated adolescents who lack sophistication.

WTC7 is a beautifully executed simple building. The Twins were the same.
