Wow... so there's still hope for a few of the crowd favorites then?

Yay! More people to scare away the drug-dealers in the park

Same ol same ol. The recent fluctuations have been wilder than usual, but projects have always gone through fits and starts like this, including being put on hold until market conditions change years later.
Anyone remember the multi-decade Harbor Steps saga? Good high-profile example envisioned in the 1970s and built from about 1993 to 2001 or thereabouts. |

It was particularly on my mind since I was working in the neighborhood in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and used to walk through site site on the way home every night. As the first tower was getting imminent in 1992 I remember getting excited about any small indication that it might be starting...

That's cool. I appreciate it when you, with these memories some of us were to young to gather, share!

Boy. Only a block away from 6th and Lenora (VIA6?). Lots of apartments in this area coming in 2013.

Does anyone have the original design plans PDF? I know it was condos then and is apartments now so there are differences but I still would like to see them.

About time! I prefer this tower over ugly parking lot.

Yea, I'll take it too, but one can still with that they did a concave effect with spikes jutting out on top of this one.

I think this one will turn out well. There aren't a lot of patchwork materials and colors present. What the curtain wall ends up looking like will determine the end result, but much like I personally feel Aspira looked dull in renders, in reality I think it looks great. I think this will be the same.

The main thing I dislike is the ugly parking podium, but I understand they're a necessary evil generally.

I think this is grandfathered under the old rules that allowed more levels of parking above grade.

Doesn't bother me at all. Plus without having to dig down for parking floors the building will rise faster once they start!
