It has turned out really well. In terms of highrises in the City, I think only 99 Bishopsgate has better cladding.

Am I the only one who doesn't like this reclad? I mean the glass itself is fine, but the tower has lost its monumental character completely. It would have looked much better with the old stony façade cleaned up thoroughly.

Yes, and I'm sure you've already stated that a few times. Fact is the old one bought the skyline down and looked awful. The new makes the skyline look 10x better.

I don't know. I kinda liked the old one. By itself it wasn't very nice. But i think with all the new glass towers going up around it, it would have made a nice contrast. Still, not a bad reclad.

Because I'm highly surprised that everyone is so easily impressed by a "fashionable" glass that will look old within a few years as well. If it was a new tower built somewhere in London, I would say it looks quite pleasant, but not in this case.

"Ugly" and "beautiful" is debatable. The only fact is that nowadays concrete facades are not popular any more.
