Lake at Hattian Bala (AJK)

As promised, I'm posting the pictures of the new lake at Hattian Bala.

Side of the mountain that fell

Arrival point at the lake

Scars of the earthquake

A tree growing from what is now the lake bed

Dust rising from a landslide in progress

View of the lake from the other side.

Are there still bodies underwater, or did they fish them out?

I look for Pakistan related pictures on Flickr by putting "most recent" in the search criteria, so if I repost an old picture which is uploaded to flickr by someone recently, then I apologize.

I always assume a picture uploaded on Flickr within the last couple of days is new, and not being reuploaded from someone elses Flickr stream.

The Simly Dam is the largest reservoir of drinking water to people living in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. The water stored in this dam is fed by the melting snow & natural springs of Murree hills.

Simly Dam is located around 30 kilometer (19 miles) north of Islamabad. About 10 to 15 minutes drive from Convention Center Islamabad towards Murree,a road is branching off to the right which is marked Simly Dam Road. Usually, it takes around 30 minutes to reach Simly Dam from this road. The road is not very smooth and has bumps but the surroundings are beautiful (till April 2008)

Aab Shaar & jheel in blochistan

Pir Ghaib (Invisible saint) is a beautiful place surrounded from all sides by daunting rugged mountains and is almost 10 K.Ms Eastwards from the National Highway between Sibi and Mach cities of Baluchistan, Pakistan. No one knows about the exact historical validity of a Saint's Grave. The locals attribute many mythological stories.
