Good thread.
I've gone for Lumiere. The tower shape was not the deciding factor for me, it's more the twin tower element, and the thoroughly mixed use of the place which covers virtually everything for everyone. It is a really well thought out scheme which has taken on board many lessons of the criticisms of previous developments.

Sorry guys, it's Lumiere for me too. It's just a stunningly beautiful design. I'd follow with V, then close behind that Eastgate.

Even though this may appear biassed - I would have voted Lumiere wherever it were based - it beats the other 2 hands down. If Critereon were on here I prefer that even more so...

V Tower, Then Lumiere, then Eastgate -
V: not the tallest, and should have been(admittedly), but an interesting shape, fits in well with it's surroundings, and complements Alpha Tower Lumiere: Brilliant concept, reminds me of a 'Picasso version' of the Petronas Eastgate: superb height, Sears lite, not the most innovative design, be interested to see what the finishing will be like.

I actually don’t think any of them are that good in the grand scheme of things, but I also don’t actively dislike any of them.
Lumiere looks the best in renders, but I think the cladding/form combination will look brash and abrasive in reality. V I really cant decide on, form wise I think it is just my favourite but again I think the clad could look overblown, although I think the renders have a very odd colour tint so its hard to say. Eastgate is relatively boring in form, and the cladding isn’t exciting either; but I do think its simplicity gives it the best chance of looking good when finished, it also will sit easily with its boxy friends on the Manchester skyline, while the others could end up looking like sore thumbs. |

Eastgate for me, but all 3 stand on the quailty of the Cladding.
And V tower is now reported as being 146 Metres tall with the 152M being the farcard overrun. stumpy...

Lumiere is quite simply miles ahead of the other two. it is possibly the most fantastic tower design yet proposed in this country realy quite something. love the cut planes and sharp pointed angles. inevitably it will be less dramatic when built but it should still be fantastic
That V tower thingy is pretty rank and its really not agood site for a tower. dont like the grown and the way teh building tapers to it. Really not a fan. What happened to arena central? Eastgate? well its an ok design... but just ok thats all the height obviously stands it in good stead and the cladding should be class but it is simply 3 uninspiring boxes manc already has an iconic box, this should be something a bit fancy. some nice ornate top might sort it. |

I know Lumiere is really nice, it is my fave of the three, but sorry, it doesn't come close to the Shard or Bishopsgate. Or Leadenhall. Or Heron. Or even 20 Fenchurch street, which is not everyone's favourite, but there is no other tower like it in the world. (And that's just the city towers)Seriously. Doesn't touch them. |

Hear hear - Lumiere is nice (less keen on the smaller tower) but the Gherkin, Shard & Pinnacle/Helter Skelter are pretty special. Hell, even Tower 42 is a bit of a stunner.

These 3 are just meh, there are much more impressive towers being built in London. Some of the towers in the 100-150 metre category across the country are more interesting than these.
Eastgate in that first picture looks like a carbon copy of the smaller of the 2 Riverside South buildings in London, are we supposed to be inspired by that? Manchester is one of my favourite cities but it needs to get its skyscraper act together. I'm not a fan of Lumiere, I liked it a lot at first but this fashion of having all these corners cut of high-rise buildings is boring me now. It looks like someone has got a piece of cheese and cut pieces off it with a knife. It's not ugly at all, I wouldn't mind it if I lived there but I don't think it's all it's cracked up to be. The fact there are 2 towers is nice. My favourite is the V Tower. It's not a soaring beauty but it's a nice neat, attractive design and fits in well with the surroundings. |

I think Lumiere is the best design by far.
But I'm totally biased and voted Eastgate anyway. But I do genuinely think that Inacity is far better than V-Tower. In fact, I prefer HCT, and BST... |

. I like V but it's too short and could have been more adventurous. . Luminithingy is too abstract and the cladding makes me worry that it will look like Beetham Manc. . East Gate is not just another slab, but 3 slabs for the price of one. They will all look great when finished as we have nothing like them in our respective city's and we will all go "wow", but is this the best we can do? I hope not. I voted V reluctantly after much self questioning as to whether I was voting for it because I'm Brum based.

i voteed for la lumier by far the best design in terms of scale massing and overall design the v thing was my second choice really needed to be another 10 stories and eastgate is v poor IMO the architects really did not push them selves in any respect to this development the best thing manchester could do is to reduce the height of this development
