I was wondering...Are they planning to build something 400-500m (or higher)? Would be a great addition to this skyline.

This will provide the best views towards the skyline in the city.
So out of the top 6 floors 4 are apartments and the top 2 is for the public. Do the residents share an elevator with restaurant guests?

New Retail Gem @Zeil

I'd guess public areas are served by an independent elevator.

A small but neat project at Frankfurt's most frequented shopping street, the Zeil:

Zeil Passage | Zeil/Holzgraben 111 | Central Frankfurt

- residential an retail complex (incl. 15 apartments)
- Hirsch Pharmacy (550 years old, Fresenius Inc. was established there) will be integrated
- proposed completion: Fall 2017
- Architects: Tek To Nik Architekten

No, there are no such plans.

I personally think such plans would be ill adviced. A tower of 4-500 m would appear twice as tall as the rest of the skyline. Id prefer for Frankfurt to exersice a less Dubaiesque attitude towards its own development.

A proposal for a new "number-on-rise" has circulated for a long time; the so called "Millenuim tower" of ca. 320 m. I would be happy for it to be realized had it not been for its terribly fantacy-less design.

Any architecturally more interesting proposals of a new "number-one-rises" of plus 300 meters would be great news.

Apparently it's about to start soon. And there's a little increase in height too - now 190m.

This comes only hours, after Tower 2 was increased to 177m. And if certain rumours are true and all goes well, this is not the last height increase of a current project.

Some rather current skyline views for a change :)

That skyline is getting denser as ever, ha.

The neighbouring hotel tower is getting a separate design competition - and hopefully a more attractive winning design ...

Are you talking about the above building? That's because it's an existing building from the 60s that's being converted.

I'd rather have it stay true to the 60s, then cover it with plasticky random cladding.
