Nope, banks will want to finalize their move long before Brexit actually happens, to ensure a smooth, trouble free transition. Regarding the big winners of Brexit, so far it looks like it is indeed Frankfurt. Several big financial institutions have already decided to relocate their EU headquarter to Frankfurt, no speculation:

Morgan Stanley:

Citigroup:
http://www.thestar.com.my/business/b...-after-brexit/

Nomura:

Daiwa:
http://www.businessinsider.com/r-jap...it-2017-6?IR=T

Sumitomo:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/...nkfurt-office/

Deutsche Bank:

Great development so far. An already low vacancy rate in the city, more office demand and climbing prices mean higher chances of more skyscrapers.

I believe you can add Standard Chartered to that list. And it is just nonsense to say it is speculation. On the other hand it is not a question to close down London and move all to Frankfurt, it is the EU part of business that requires the license that is on the table. Still I believe it will be a massive lift for Frankfurt and really exciting.
By the way Bank of America announced earlier this week that Dublin will be their first choice. So not all goes to Frankfurt...

Of course London isn't closing down. It will stay one -if not THE- financial capital of the world. It is already too big and established for any other European city to come close. Nontheless it will still have to shed feathers because of Brexit. Tens of thousands of jobs in the finance industry will have to leave the city for other EU cities in the next years. Frankfurt, Dublin, Paris and Luxembourg will be able to expand on London's cost and out of those experts predict, and we're seeing first signs that this is true, Frankfurt will gain the most.

The Bank of America is a good catch for Dublin though...

is the "wavy-cladded" building next to this getting cleaned ? or has it been cleaned up since 2015? I was in Frankfurt in summer of 2015 and I was literally appalled by how dirty most the scrapers' facades were.

All these new buildings around the world could be built in any major city. There are no connections with the cultural heritage, with the historical architecture of these places. For me, it's a shame seeing Hamburg constructing like that.

I see your point, but it seems difficult to combine traditional timber-frame architecture with a 150m highrise building.

Frankfurt should be aware it doesn't get too boxy.
Imho the skyline's biggest strength has been its postmodern silhouette, with an interesting variety of shapes, colours, tops and aesthetics. The more grey boxes we get, the less interesting and unique this skyline becomes - albeit denser.
