This is great! Those decrepid ruins have been an eyesore for long enough. Only the name--Seneca Apartment Community--has to go.

Beautiful building. They should just call it "Seneca Tower".

I like it. Thought I prefer the blue glass over the grey.

Here's the latest on design review. Caution: big ass file, but lots and lots of renderings. Very geometricly presented too. This one will be a nice fit for the neighborhood:

I thought the original concepts had a chicer look, but this one is definitely unique, I'll give it that. I could go for a new color scheme, but the angles are quite interesting.

Love it, but I'd honestly support almost anything that comes in at 300' on that side of I-5!

Agreed. I can't wait to drive along I-5 with this and 815 Pine across the freeway from each other!

I know this is a longshot, but...with more residential being constructed in the area, and many people using the convention center as a pass through to downtown, does anybody see the retail portion of the convention center being more neighborhood commercial services? Wine merchabts, drugstore, etc?

The retail in the center has always been kind of sad to me.

Very odd. But that's what I like about the place. Check out the menu. You basically get a strange and interesting ethnic meal served on a vegitarian hot dog.

I know, right? First Hill retail is virtually nonexistent. I always imagined Madison being the main thoroughfare, but, nope, it's really just hospital lobbies and a few banks. First Hill needs a neighbourhood retail thoroughfare.

Oh wait you mean the convention center. well that too. The retail inside that thing is kind of pathetic too.

It's really good. You can buy these huge vegetarian hotdogs there and also use the Internet, as you probably are already aware. But also I've met the owner a few times and she's this very warm and welcoming middle-aged lady. Love that place.

Whenever I'm doing business at the Convention Center I always go to 'JUICE IT' which is now on the 2nd floor. Great fresh food..all kinds of Juice combos of course but also sandwiches and great rice bowl combos. It's got great light set inside the glass 'cubes'

Yeah, you'd sort of expect Madison to have the retail, but it's pretty pedestrian-unfriendly. The sidewalks are too narrow and the traffic can be intense.

First Hill is weird. It has more high-rises than some downtowns (compare First Hill to, say, Colorado Springs downtown), yet maintains leafiness and relatively little retail.
