I actually think it looks good, and a hell of a lot better than clear, blue or green glass... A dark blue would have been alright, but I really like the bronze.

Yes, because that was part of the in-thing in the 70s.

Blue/green glass is what's in now. You can't notice it even in midtown Manhattan.

Maybe in Miami and Vancouver, and Toronto. But it looks terrible. I am happy Australian cities and developers don't necessarily follow a North American lead. Dark blue, reflective glass is fine... that semi-transparent Vancouver blue/green is foul.

Melbourne has a lot of gold and bronze glass, so this building will fit right in. It's dark and reflective. I love it.

God, no. Blue, green and clear glass trumps this kind of dated bronze colour. SHM so much right now.

Part of what makes a good skyline is the variety of buildings that are in it. This will be a nice, different looking building making a major impact. If it was blue it would too closely resemble another Rialto. (not a bad thing, just unnecessary)

I like to compare it with ice cream. My personal fav is mint chocolate chip, so technically if you put anything up against that, mint chocolate chip would always be better. But, if that's all I ate, I would get damn bored of it! In this case, I also enjoy many other flavors too, (oreo, rasp choc chip, cotton candy, vanilla w/peanut butter, etc) and that's what Pearl is. It may not be mint chocolate chip, but it's still good, and stands out because it's a novelty.

Some cities seem to think that all they need going forward is the mint chocolate chip. (Toronto, I'm looking at you) Melbourne is better off because it appreciates all the flavors

its funny you should say that because there are times when I've looked at the glass on this building and could have sworn it had a tinge of blue, sometimes green, sometimes silver.

Here are some recent photos
