I don't know what's wrong with this building but the cladding seems to have stopped for about 10 days.

I have a similar feeling for the pearl river tower. Is there any link with the Asian Games? I know there is a sort of restriction for private construction or renovation the months before the games.

It's really a pitty. The cladding on this one was incredibly fast until it sudenly stopped.

Are they stopping construction activity because of the games? What a ridiculous measure!

Yeah, cladding doesn't exactly lead to a lot of dust or pollution. In fact, it leads to a better appearance in the CBD

The user WLager posted in the thread for the tower next to the East Tower (Zhujiang New City CBD J2-2 Plot Project) that all construction in Guangzhou will be suspended for the Asian Games. Unfortunately he did not provide a source, so the veracity of the statement cannot be vouched for.

There were similar measures in Shanghai for the Expo, and we know that they didn't stop constructions anyway.

The buildings nearby (BossSunwen & The Pinacle for instance) continue rising which is more harmful to the air quality than cladding so it's hard to tell what's going on. Maybe just some trouble with the cladding supplier.

Means for 15 days no construction, could've been worse if the Expo would be held in Guangzhou.

The cladding didn't stop to my surprise. I have a nice view on the tower from my working place and I saw the guys adding one floor yesterday. No one worked on the cladding today though. Weird progress

The top of the cladding reminds me a bit of the twin towers for some reason, looks very nice
