They said they'll revise the height upwards once again, this time to 450m+ (ASE is 460m officially now). The height race in Chongqing isn't over. Still no official release about this new change.

昨天下午赴渝参加重庆市第三届“市长国际经济顾问团年会”的瑞安集团董事长罗康瑞透露，在建的“重庆新天地”项目累计投资已达到三十多亿，年底该项目一小部分将开始正式营业，其最高楼将于十月动工。

西部第一高楼之争

谈起重庆地标，罗康瑞得知目前重庆两个楼盘都在争创重庆第一高楼，他微笑道，重庆新天地的最高楼争取成为西部第一高楼。

据悉，争夺重庆地标的三大高楼均超过400米，重庆国际金融中心现设计高度在431米，在建的鼎好世纪星城目前现设计高度约460米，比上海金茂大厦也高出近40m。罗康瑞称其力作——瑞安嘉陵帆影将争取超越他们，成为西部第一高楼。

新天地——现代生活新概念

当记者问起重庆新天地与罗康瑞的成名作——上海新天地的差异时，罗康瑞认为上海以石库门为背景，是一个体现上海传统历史文化和现代生活形态的综合场所。而重庆目前还没有一个真正有价值的集现代生活、工作、休闲为一体的建筑项目。

所以，“重庆新天地不仅要融入吊脚楼等传统特色建筑，更重要的是体现出现代生活的内涵，现代人真正追求的时尚生活不仅仅是享受，也与工作相关”。罗康瑞称重庆新天地首创的引入嘉陵江水建人工湖，明年底将完工。新天地期望以现代手法和国际元素改造重庆旧区，让西部人耳目一新。
