some new renders of the project were released on its homepage, showing some changed detail plannings concerning the residential buildings.

the complete pdf with additional indoor renderings and facts&figures (also in english) about the individual parts of the project can be found here

Nice update there! Thanks for sharing!

I can sense some slight improvements in the lowrise residential buildings.

I just hope the facade materials are of high quality for that whole quarter. Otherwise the rather simple designs could just look like something straight out of the late 50s.

well, the design of the residentials are quite okay (but only Okay) now.
But i am really unhappy with the redesign of the Winx Tower.

I don't understand those ugly hoirzontal connection floors between the separate parts...the first design was much better. For a height of 115m as it is going to be, vertical design elements are very important, not horizontal ones.

is it 115m now?

I find the winx tower too stumpy. they should have followed the taunusturm example, and make the tower higher, but less fat.

nope, the height is perfect for this location, imo.

Agree I also think the height is right for the location. The higher buildings should be one or two blocks further away from the Main. The skyline I think will be much better then.

^ Agreed.

I'm okay with the redesign, too. It looks more expressive now.
Though I agree with newie they should have gone for more vertical accents instead of horizontal ones.

you´re right... i also don´t like the horizontal connection floors....the whole building looked much better before

i don`t think they changed anything about the winx design, though the horizontal accentuation of the connection part did not look as stumpy as now in the initial 150meter tall version.
anyway, they are really speeding up construction of the porta tower - there are at least 4 drilling machines working on the foundation piles and the embankement of the construction pit.
photographic proof (sorry for the bad quality..)

The development as seen from the river (the red cranes in the background belong to the TaunusTurm development, only the biggest red crane belongs to Maintor). This view will change completely within the next 4 years.

A closer look at three projects - The Maintor in the foreground, the TaunusTurm in the back (small red cranes) and the T11 Tower redevelopment in the background (yellow cranes)

Nice, the worst angle of the Frankfurt skyline will finally become presentable.
