Why wouldn't a celeb wanna live here? Many, like Mike Myers, Jill Hennessey and Rachel McAdams, own properties in Toronto. Let us not forget our city was #1 in the world to live in for most of the 90s and is still top 10 today. We're also Hollywood North, so I'd say celebrities have a pretty damn good reason to wanna be here.

Exactly. They're all Canadian celebrities. No big name Amercian celebrity would want to live here over L.A. or New York.

There really is no such thing as an American celebrity. They tend to live in dozens of place around the world and are fully versed on global affairs unlike the rest of their brethren. And, yeah, many A-lister have homes in Toronto and Vancouver as they can afford for them to sit empty for years on end

Toronto is actually quite popular with the ultra-rich apparently, as you can get a lot of home for a comparably cheap price. And, as valantino says, they all have multiple properties anyway.

Ya, for the Film Festival. They do that in many other cities around the world as well. How often would celebrities just come here during their time off? They come when they're involved with a movie or promotion.

Libeskind has gone too far. Building a tower shaped like the first letter of his name is like giving a fuck you to Toronto. I didn't know the man could produce something uglier than the ROM addition...

The shape of the tower results mainly from the preservation of the Hummingbird venue, and that it is shaped like an L is only some people's interpretation. The name of the tower is after Libeskind, and the developer must have felt that marketing it as his tower was important to selling it.

I didn't realize how prominent it would be from the lakeview until that shot Skybean. The core is expanding both east and west now.
