And btw, a HUGE kuddos to FREKI (/MR_D :P) for... Well all the images you've taken and posted on this forum. They're always of a high quality and you're ridiculously comprehensive and thorough in your walks around Copenhagen Very nice mate.

Anyway, it should indeed be perfectly possible to get by on English in CPH. Generally everyone is fluent or at least very near it. Especially younger people.

People can however be shy to get into a proper conversation in English, as I think a lot of Danes feel embarrassed about their accent, as some English words are difficult to pronounce for a lot of Danes without sounding like a complete idiot, at least in their own ears

Anyway, don't know if it has changed in the last 5 years, but I'd definately say getting by on English here would be no problem. I know my English speaking mates haven't had any noticable problems.
Tourist. Can't wait to come back.

I agree, i was in Cph a year ago for 3 weeks and just once i had to use my poor danish... The result was that a man who i was talking to thought i am from Sweden (that was a day of football match between Swe and Den) I said in danish that i don't speak Danish...

I miss Copenhagen so much, and those very nice pics remind me of those beautiful days. But i strongly believe that they look even better than reality ;P

Stop by the north-west-quarter, ydre Nørrebro and the Haraldsgade-quarter someday. Things are also starting to happen out there. BTW, wonderful thread!

Me and Hviid teamed up and went shooting and drinking yesterday

It was a great day and while it might not look like it in the pics it was really warm and spring like - I ended up getting sunburned

No new places - just the old spring route we also took last year when the photo season started

Cheers people!

No mate, no it's not - it's the curse we Norse have been cursed with in exchange of superiority in pretty much everything else..

Like Odin we too have to suffer to gain - a tad unfair I say, but it could be worse ( we could be Canada )

Wonderful day today - so I took a walk around Islands Brygge and Kalvebod Brygge

Both areas are filled with new and upcomming buildings - Islands Brygge is primarily residential where nearby Kalvebod Brygge is commercial - they are parted by Copenhagen Habour and inked by bridges..

Starting out at the southern point of Kalvebod Brygge at Fisketorvet Shopping Center

Islands Brygge from the bridge.. it's located in the island of Amager

Radisson SAS hotel..

Islands Brygge from the bridge back to Zealand

Entering Kalvebod Brygge

That's all from today..

Bought a new camera yesterday and went testshooting it today..

It's still a small compact as me and DSL isn't the really compatible - but it does a pretty nice job and I'm very pleased

My new camera: http://www.greatdigitaldeals.co.uk/i...xus960main.jpg

Todays trip will be devided into two parts, both will be in the familiar setting of the inner city - primarity the old town, predestrian streets and Nyhavn.. enjoy

Rosenborg Castle

Strøget pedestrian street

Don't you just hate when your limo is too long for the small side streets

Part two to come in a few hours..

Looks like it's a nice little camera you've bought! Great pictures! I am actually also looking for another compact camera for the situations where I'm unable (or unwilling) to carry around my DSLR with lenses and everything.

Yeah I honestly don't understand the facination with DSLR cams - sure they take the best pictures, but it seems like such a hazzle to carry all the stuff around I know I would never get any pictures taken as it would end up as a job compared to an enjoyable walk

Everything is so easy with a small compact, and for those interested you can ofcause ajust all the stuff manually from ISO to focus and all that..

Personally I will highly recommend something from Cannon's IXUS series if you are looking.. I've always kept to Sony, but after I bought an IXUS for my mother some years back I was so impressed that I wanted one next time I needed a new one. it has 12,1MP and can record video in 1024x768 and I love it
