It exceeded my expectations, and I definately like that extra detailing of the crown that I don't recall being in the early renderings.

Nice tower and really impressive lit up! Will it be always like this, or just for the inauguration?

It was just for the inauguration dude. Having said that we all hope that it will be slightly lit up constantly from tonight...we'll see, I'll let you know anyway .

This is, in my opinion, how First will look from tonight. This pic was taken on 4 may by Philippe Cottier. The lighting is much sober but pretty nice imo...Let's see what happens later on.

Very smart how they build that new tower on top of the old one.

PS: late april, a permanent multicoloured lighting scheme will be installed at the top of Tower FIRST (as well as two neon signs Ernst & Young/Euler Hermes) , the lighting will also enable patterns to be created. Finally, please note that our french Spiderman Alain Robert will climb France's tallest office tower late april as well, this time legally!

EDIT 19/12/2012

The TOWER FIRST to give the weather forecasts

Quote:
Since yesterday, the Tower FIRST (Paris' tallest office tower), has a new lighting scheme announcing the following day's weather forecasts via a color code. Yellow/Orange (sunny); Blue (a 'drop' effect meaning rainy); Grey (a 'mist' effect meaning overcast); White (a 'flake' effect meaning snowy).

On national events, there will also be different lighting schemes (May 1st, May 8th, Bastille Day, November 11th). For the great sports performances or any other event connected to our country, the tower FIRST will show a Blue White Red lighting.

Finally, for all the festive events, 'Nuits Blanches', the holiday period, Olympic Games opening ceremony, World Cup opening ceremony...the Tower FIRST will twinckle in color in response to the Eiffel Tower.

Left (sunny) / Right (rainy)

Yes, a decent changing lighting would be faboulous. On June, 13th, First is massively shining from inside instead. Is this common, that floors are almost completely lit in the evening?

But not to forget: great work - maybe the best redesign of a renovated tower I can remember and so much more than just a change of cladding. A big enrichment for the skyline of La Défense . Chapeau!
