Yeah. Great view & nice folks. Think Victor's moved to the old Bibelot space at York and Timonium.

I was sorry to see Victor's close too. It was our favorite restaurant to take out of town visitors to and the many that we did take there never failed to be impressed by the view. The food was decent and not overpriced for that location but the view was stunning, especially if you dined al fresco. Even in mid summer it was pleasant because you always got that cool breeze off of the water. The new Victor's in Timonium is nothing like the old one. There you get to sit out and overlook the parking lot and the stables at the fair ground beyond!

Agreed. Undoubtedly, another restaurant will go in approximately that location and have that view but (whine, whine) it'll be outa my price range.

thanks for the photo compliments. Its definitly stirring down in sobo. Took some nice photos of silo point. I'll have to get them up. the curtain wall is so clean and sleek, almost office building like. Odd choice for a residential building, but I am sure it end up looking great.

I got an invite in the mail for the Harbor Pointe homes in SoBo. These haven't come up too much (I guess because they haven't block everyone's view or anything), but here it is in case anyone is interested.

Those are right across the street from me. They ahve been good neighbors for the most part so far. the houses look so so from the front, but really really nice from the back. Once the development is filled up, it will be a nice little nook. I am looking forward to their completion.

Walking by there Saturday, I wondered if, down the line, these very nice homes would set the tone for a future redevelopment of the Southside Shopping Center. I have nothing against the center as it exists, but it seems in a good place for more dense development.

Also watched two men do the final wiring for the RR crossing signal on the new access road from Key Highway to Tide Point. Have never gotten so close to Domino Sugars plant before ... it has a noir look straight out of the Tim Burton Batman movies.

It does seem that the shopping center needs a facelift (at least), but I would guess that nothing will be done for at least 2 or 3 more years.

Is there a timeframe for the Key Highway extention completion? Does it seem like it's almost done?

Should be open the next couple of weeks. The contractor recently put down the final coat of asphalt and RR crossing gate's done. Just needs striping.

Seems like that took a long time considering its length.

Yeah. 25 years from when it was first proposed as loop road connecting all the Locust Point industrial areas.

As for this stub of that larger project: think getting approval for new at-grade rail crossings takes a while (after everyone agreed a bridge was too freakin' expensive). Then there was negotiating a ROW from Domino. Then bidding it out. And making sure there was money in the budget. And persuading folks this wasn't just a sop to benefit Struever Bros. "Tide Point" project. Not necessarily in that order.

Great pics! One from the unintended irony dept.: as your view across the harbor got better (or more interesting) with the development of Harbor East, the view of the harbor from the deck atop my former apt. in Little Italy was pretty much obliterated. C'est la vie.

That is indeed unintended irony... All in all I have been a big supporter of the key highway URP. I would trade my view for an active, accessible waterfront. I would rathe rbe able to see the water up close than from afar. But I will be enjoying my view while I still have it.

I saw the camerman trying to get a shot, so I pretended like he did not exist, hence the serious expression.. Plus I was still mad thinking about the reason why I was at bike to work day... because someone stole my car ;-)

Huck's pics made me want to see some of the developments up close, so at lunch I went out and drove around. I also took some pics...

These two are directly across the street (West at Charles st) from each other, and they are both being gutted. The first one consists of all three properties on the left. With these being re-done and the video shop space on Charles st (huge store space), this stretch of charles will be drastically different soon.
