I agree with you, inno, I think the Asymptote design might be me favorite, but I actually like the SOM one, too. And Liebeskind's is nice too, but like KillerZavatar, I'd be happy to see almost any of these built.

I don't think they will chose Asymptote, simply too difficult to construct. Although I would love to see it build. It's like denying gravity Just too bad when we speak about hypertalls 500m+ they usually pick designs easiest to build, not the ones most challenging.

Btw Inno do you know if all that designs you have just posted are still in the competition? Or maybe some of them are already rejected and have no chance to be chosen?

Upper renderings are Old competition. So no chance to be chosen.
Unfortunately, Only Last one which master plan(500m) is going to construction.

Probably "Real rendering" will be open next years.

Land mark tower construction company is going to SELECT in September.
There is a cut-throat competition going on in the Tower construction company select.
Hyundai/Daewoo/Samsung/GS/Dariem (In my opinions GS)

Official contract at 7. september
Construction coast is $ 1.5 billions.
Land mark tower price is $ 4 billions.

Land mark tower design by Renzo Piano.(100floors floors area 305,836m2)

Personally Renzo Piano is not my taste. I'm anxious

Because IBD waste time 5 years, So every schedule will be "Fast Track"

Now Seoul Goverment's Major project is "Hanriver Renaissance" which movement is demolish Ugly commie aparment beside riverside.

The area is being redeveloped, by KORAIL, according to a master plan by Daniel Libeskind, and the main landmark tower is to be specifically designed by Renzo Piano.
Is that correct now?

Is Libeskind designing any specific buildings in the complex?
And who is the designer of that very cool landmark hotel?

==> Unfortunately, as far as I know there is no specific buildings in the complex by Libeskind. New master plan based on Libeskind. Very sad,

First of all landmark tower desinger and construction company will be selected till September.
Landmark hotel's(and other 66 building) designer and construction company is going to select until the end of the year 2012.

very nice renders on that site, thank you inno.

looking at the overview picture you can clearly see the main road underground and instead of building shit above there is a lot of parks and green space, i really like that. very nice project and pretty well designed. this isnt the most amazing design for one building, but it looks good and with the surrounding buildings it will be stunning

IMO IBD's new master plan is little bit an untidy building .
IBD National Park(right) is going to make almost same size with "the centeral park" of NYC till 2025.
