April 1, 2007 | World's Tallest Diagram Update

well since the world is currently booming with skyscrapers with many over 300m, ive decided to just include skyscrapers 400m+.It was getting ridiculous with 2-3 being added every month. nearly 60, just simply amazing.
it was taking days just to update the diagram.
so ive increased the height to 400m (with spire). ive included projects 398m to roof.so now about 20 supertalls.
heres the first draft copy.as you can see i havent detailed alot of dubai projects (far left). ill update them over next few days.
any serious proposals (400m+ missing ???)
whats the deal with west pearl tower at 532m? is that for both or just one?
so many from china coming up but har to get info our updates.
btw is the jakarta tower uc?

So many over 400. Hope all the towers will built.

Chicago Spire looks great. A little bit like Bionic Tower.

Nice work Cul but I think you spoil and overcomplicate your diagrams by putting buildings in there that are not even approved or U/C yet such as Pentonium, Ocean Heights 2, Chicago Spire etc. You entitle it "construction diagram" so accordingly the real action and interest is where you show the progress month by month of the actual buildings UC, not empty outlines of buildings which are essentially meaningless until evidence of real progress is presented. There's no way Al Burj should be included at this stage and I think you should remove the Lotte Tower which seems a complete waste of space.

^yeah i was just going on hear say about some projects that may start soon.
as for al burj, well it hasnt been given approval yet and the 1200m version no one has seen? so bit hard to show. I could draw in the 750m version but thats been superseded.

Agree with larven here. You should take out buildings where proper construction has not started. Ocean Heights 2 will definitely not start any time soon, certainly not until the problems with infinity tower next door aren't sorted out. Also it was supposed to be launched in January but never happened so it's possible they sold the plot. Pentominium also won't start anytime soon (maybe a year?). Chicago spire may start soon but I wouldn't add it until proper excavation starts. Also the Kingkey finance centre and the one beside it. Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't add one until I'm absolutely sure work has started.

Burj Al Alam should start soon. Here's a picture of the site (the 1/4 circle one) and it looks like there's some stuff on site. There was an announcement last december that they started soil testing.

Not much time left for CN now. I predicted about a year ago that it would cease being the tallest the middle week of August and it still looks like that will be true.
