What are the characteristics of the above project? Aside from bringing development back down to the water, what are they planning? A boulevard? Marinas? Open space?

Adventure World Warsaw Parks & Resort announces groundbreaking

Announcing Central Eastern Europe’s First Large-Scale Theme Park Groundbreaking Ceremony set for July 21, 2012

[Warsaw, Poland - July 20, 2012] With much anticipation a scale model of Poland’s first large-scale theme park and resort was revealed today showcasing the most exciting new venture in Central Eastern Europe defining Warsaw as a new entertainment destination, announced Peter Jan Mulder, CEO of Adventure World Warsaw. "This resort celebrates the renaissance of Poland as it emerges into the world marketplace as a leader in the hospitality and entertainment industry" said Mulder.

Adventure World Warsaw will provide a unique guest experience combining a world-class destination resort with over 50 guest experiences including surprising theme park attractions, Poland’s largest one-of-a-kind indoor Water Park - The Aqua Dome, as well as an exciting urban center – the Entertainment Village, incorporating large-scale, well known branded shopping and dining, and top tier entertainment offerings. Also included on the property will be two spectacular themed hotels hosting over 800 well-appointed rooms, elaborate culinary delights and full conference and meeting facilities.

The project will be constructed over a total area of approximately 230 hectares. “More than 100 of the most creative and accomplished executives in the theme park and destination resort business have joined together to build this ambitious project,” said Mulder. “Adventure World Warsaw will be a compelling new brand that will command the attention of families and young adults. It will immediately join the ranks of the world’s top theme parks and resorts when it opens its gates in 2015.”

“AWW will be supplemented with elements of local culture and history, boosting the economy and the existing regional tourism as Central Eastern Europe’s first-of-its-kind destination,” said Steven Shaiken, Executive Managing Director for AWW. “The scale of AWW is without precedence in Eastern Europe and will be responsible for creating thousands of new jobs and impacting favorably on the travel trade and tourism industry throughout the country and all of Europe.”

Located just outside the capital city, visitors will enter the theme park using a passage under the Grand Resort Hotel. Guest’s first experience of AWW will be Adventure Harbour including a thriving bazaar filled with shops, restaurants and attractions. The theme park itself will consist of five lands that will delight and emotionally connect with the entire family. A variety of fun-filled state-of-the-art attractions will be available in each land, all in an amazing scenery of fairy tales and legends including super coasters, elaborately themed indoor rides, water slide spectaculars and wave pools, interactive fountains, boat cruises and carousels.

Passing through the portals of Adventure Harbour, you will enter the LOST KINGDOM, where guests watch spectacular high fall stunts and interact in a 5D theater. Upon leaving Lost Kingdom, you enter OLD POLAND, where the architecture is reminiscent of Poland’s past and storybook characters bring folklore back to life. CREATURE LAGOON, the most youthful land of them all, where “kids” of all ages will interact with mythical creatures who love to have fun and play pranks on guests. From there you can experience the LAND OF LEGENDS reflecting ancient civilizations and heavily themed Mayan and Egyptian architecture with thrilling high-adrenaline roller coasters and shows. And the adventure continues as you explore CASTLE ISLAND and meet the likes of Merlin and fearless dragons while experiencing King Arthur’s River Ride before you take off on a magic broomstick.

All entities involved in AWW, from over 100 architects, attraction providers and IP consultants, were chosen from the most reputable companies with global theme park and resort experience. In addition to Peter Jan Mulder and Steven Shaiken, the project’s management team includes newly appointed General Manager, Edward Pawley, and a variety of accomplished theme park and resort consultants representing the areas of Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Park Operations, Hotels and Food Service.

The project’s creative team is comprised of such world-renown companies as AGS Architects, Imtech, JoraVision, Tebodin, Vekoma Rides Manufacturing, and Hafema -- all of which have exceptional experience in the field of theme parks and resort development.

The number of visits to main business lines (Theme Park, Water Park, Entertainment Village and Hotels) is conservatively forecasted at approximately 2.6m in 2015 and over 4.6m in 2024. This is achievable due to a perfect location in Central Poland and easy access to the A1 and A2 motorways, high-speed railways and airports. AWW is supported by the government of Poland as well as the city of Grodzisk Mazowiecki. “I am thrilled that we are bringing this exciting project to Poland and especially to the Grodzisk commune. This investment will secure the future growth of our region and support our economy with new jobs and business opportunities”, said Mayor Benedykcinski.

One of AWW’s greatest advantages is its perfect location in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, almost in the center of the country between two of Poland’s largest cities approx. 19 miles west of Warsaw (the capital of Poland and its largest city) and approx. 56 miles from Lodz (the third largest Polish city). The newly opened A2 highway is adjacent to the AWW resort. A population of almost 20 million resides within a four-hour drive of the resort. There are three airports in the vicinity: Fryderyk Chopin Airport in Warsaw, Modlin Airport and Wladyslaw Reymont Airport in Lodz. A suburban and newly modernized train from Warsaw arrives almost at the gates of AWW, allowing for easy access for resort visitors.

Poland lies in the heart of Europe and serves as a bridge between Western and Eastern Europe. It borders seven countries with a total population of 156 million.

Development conception of FSO industrial area by The Mint of Poland in North Praga district.

Mint of Poland submitted to the authorities of Warsaw an initial concept of the Development of 27.6 ha of the FSO cars factory in North Praga, wich the company bought in May 2011. The investment project on the former FSO carries the working name "Valley of Vistula". Project involves the construction of plenty low rise apartment buildings, offices and small marina with a beach on the riverside. Whole conception has been designed by the leading Warsaw-based architects JEMS Architekci, who are known for many major projects and realizations in the city like the master plan of Port Praski or the development plan around the National Stadium. Construction works are planned to begin in 2015. Mint of Poland is currently consulting the project with various institutions, which could obtain the necessary permits to allow a quick implementation of the Development.

wonderful update. what especially is starting to excite me is the emergence of a distinct Warsaw style, who's spirit seems to evoke Warsaw's the pre-partition restrained neo-classicism. looking forward to seeing it in person next year again.
