I love that many of the investments are integrating with the established and/or in some cases historic urban fabric!

It still boggles my mind that parking in Poland is soooo under-regulated.

Agreed. It's cringe-worthy. They need to make an effort to provide underground parking and make it more plentiful, then start cracking down on offenders, big time.

It's in terrible condition again since the owner decided to convert it back to the original version because it was rebuilt in a slightly different socrealist style but it's on hold since quite a while.

what especially makes me happy is the infill projects, Warsaw is still rebuilding from WWII and used to have so many empty lots downtown, now they are disappearing finally.

Swietokrzyska was reopened on the 1st October, so you probably had no chance

I'm really impressed (not surprised though ) with developments taking place in Warsaw.

Just one question: why do you think the street architects decided to put so many tree pots, instead of planted trees?

What I mean is...

this:

instead of this:

apparently underground installations which did not appear in the survey (common in former communist countries where knowledge was a threat to the regime) had to be consolidated along this side of the street. Given the volume of soil needed for tree roots it made it impossible to actually plant large trees over this stretch, not the case elsewhere along this rebuilt streetscape corridor.

Actually, it's the same story with tree pots on Nowy Świat (St)...

on Nowy Swiat it was deliberate, designers didn't want to screen the beautiful architecture from view.
