I think these are going to make such an impact onto the Canary Wharf skyline! these could be the start of huge improvement and variation on the skyline!

I concur. These google renderings are absolutely amazing.
Brings me back to some of the first CW renderings that really blew me away. The ones from SN.com of CW 2008 at night with Columbus, North Quay and obviously the old RS design. With Columbus killed off and North Quay on hold, I think HQW, Marsh Wall and an improved RS is a pretty good trade off. They just need to hurry up to have it all ready next year Btw; I can't see them breaking the grid either with HQW - and I think I prefer it that way. The grid is part of what makes CW unique. |

I'm glad these will go ahead before North Quay, mainly because I've always felt Riverside South was potentially too far from the central CW cluster from the north and south and somewhat needed 'reigning' in to maintain the Wharf as a coherent 'place', and secondly, because I think North Quay is a natural extension, almost the beginnings of the 'last phase' of Canary Wharf.

I'm afraid if there's a real looser - at least in terms of how long it's gonna take to be starting - from JPMs decision to stay in the city it's HQW. With vacancy rates in CW as low as they are RS still gonna go forward. But with JPM not taking up one full tower at RS the buffer in free space for the future resulting from building RS gonna be far bigger. And therefore the need to build HQW to create additional space gonna be put into the unforeseeable future...

Don't worry. Riverside South will probably be adapted to accomodate for companies who want a smaller space. It might be let out on a multi-tenancy agreement just like One Canada Square. Afterall, who wants the new Canary Wharf flagship to be dominated by just one company? I don't. The little companies will fill the building making way for Heron.

sure, as I said HQW will be built sooner or later - it's just to attractive for CWG to fill the last remaining space in their own grounds apart from 25 Churchill place which also gonna have to find a tenant before HQW can go forward - Wood warf in the contrary is a cooperation with other companies and therefore not as attractive. But the otherwise - if JPM came to CW - not too unlikely szenario that RS and HQW will rise at the same time is more or less shattered as it's gonna take quite some time to find enough smaller companies to fill RS..

Any more news on these?
I'd really like these towers to go ahead, they're canary wharf's most attractive current proposal IMO |

I noticed this from the application for RS which shows the buildings along Heron Quays.
The space for HQW appears to be taken up by two towers connected by a podium. 1 tower looks to be the same height as the other Bank St towers but the other at around 200m+ |

Intriguing. The aerial plan as well shows a central courtyard in the western tower.

The aerial plan doesn't match the elevation drawing.
The aerial still has the old design of Riverside South.
