Are we voting for the most futuristic looking or for their technology & functions or the entire package?

If for the futuristic looks, then I would say either SwissRe or Petronas... Not voting yet...

What absolute, utter rubbish. The building is an outstanding example of futurist architecture, it fits London perfectly and has become very much "part of the furniture" on the skyline. It's done wonders for the city's image and is just as popular as Big Ben, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, etc. The glass dome contrasts wonderfully with the 17th century dome of St Paul's. Ask any Londoner who lives here and more than 99% will agree with me.

Look in the Rate Our Talls section of this website and you'll find it's both the highest rated and most viewed building in the European section. SwissRe has won several major architectural awards and is widely regarded as Foster's best work. David Littlejohn of the Wall Street Journal described it as "The most ingenious and elegant new skyscraper anywhere in the world for at least 30 years."

The most futuristic looking, i.e. its outward appearance.

I think there are two things that will be typical/charachteristic for the next generation of highrise architechture, first clean, stylistical pure designs and second more curves. Maybe also more open space.

I cant decide but id say if i get to choose two. Swiss Re in London; becouse it has set an example of what ca be done with glass (not only straight pieces, plus it shows the strenght of new glasstypes, which will get even stronger with nanotechnology (lets hope that)). And Emirates Towers becouse they have such a clean and spacy design.

Swiss Re would look amazing if it weren't for hte black stripes going down the facade. IMO Swiss Re would look amazing if it were just one uniform colour.

edit - I vote Burj Al Arab

Hard one. For me it's between the BoC and Petronas. The BoC is the oldest scraper in this bunch but still is one of the most futuristic. One thing that BoC has that Petronas doesn't are animated led lighting.

I'll go with BoC

Petronas uses more traditional floodlights, which brings out its beauty quite well. However, I've seen pictures of it lit up in different colours before.

Had to think hard between SwissRe or Bank of China but went with BOC.. the 'new' lighting is great. Reminds me of the old scifi movie Tron

I am so sorry about this "of toppic" wich i have just made, but i am a bit sorprised.
