I believe it doesn't, but M7 does, and Slovenian A5 as well.

Most vignette-free sections of the Hungarian motorway/expressway are only reasonable accessible via tolled sections.

In Hungary expressways are free for cars, only truckers have to buy vignette for using them. Except M0 which is free for everybody.

Correction:bypass roads are free, wether they are expressways or motorways. Like M3 between the 2 exits of Hatvan.

but M70 has parallel alternate road. btw i find cool system with vignette free sections from border crossing up to first exit, i think H has that (actually, they have very liberal vignette system with free bypasses).

edit: i had absolutely no idea that expressways are free in H!

Can you get the vignette at every border crossing? (like Hegyeshalom or Rajka?) Or maybe already in Austria or Slovakia?

I don't know if you can get it at Austrian gas stations, but you can definitely buy it at every OEAMTC (Austrian Automobile Club) location. There's one at the service area before the border at Hegyeshalom. Of course, you can also buy it on the Hungarian side of the border.

It may be a different story with small, non-motorway border crossings.

On a side note, I saw Austrian toll stickers being sold at Autobahn gas stations on the German A3 near Wurzburg. Now that's a long way from the border.

but there are 3 exits...

cronology:
1. there was no bypass section because there was only the hatvan(road 21) IC

2. they built the kerekharaszt IC and the "kerekharaszt IC - Hatvan IC" section became free making it a half bypass (between road 3 west and road 21)

3. they built the road 32 IC and the "Hatvan IC - road 32 IC" section became free but the "kerekharaszt IC - Hatvan IC" became tolled!!!

so you cant bypass Hatvan for free...

On M1 you can drive without vignette between the border crossing and exit 168 (and Győr, Tatabánya bypass)
On M5 between the border and exit 173 (and Kecskemét bypass)
On M7 between the border crossing and exit 232 (and Székesfehérvár bypass)
Other motorways haven't got border crossings...

There were 2 large toll gate on M5 (because of the 2 toll sections):

- at the Dabas/Albertirsa IC (here had to pay for using the Gyál - Lajosmizse section)
- before Kiskunfélegyháza-North (here had to pay the Kecskemét - Kiskunfélegyháza route).

At Ócsa and Örkény IC there were also small toll gates on the offramps for those cars who didn't cross the main toll gate.

At Inárcs rest area there was a hidden IC without toll gates.

Some photo about M5 Kiskunfélegyháza toll gate (already taken when it was closed because of the vignette system).

On M3 the main toll gate was at Gödöllő. On the latest image in GE you can see only the remains of the small booth at the exit, the big one disappeared because of the construction of M31. In GE you can swithch back to older images where can see the remains of the main toll gate. There were toll booths at every exit between Gödöllő and Füzesabony (the M3 ended there back then), except for the newer I/C Hatvan-East, the remains are still visible. About M1, the toll gate was somewhere around Mosonmagyaróvár, I don't remember exactly where. Looking at GE, rest area Moson has a strange shape, and the empty place there looks like a perfect place for a toll gate.
