amazing how this place changed in the years I have traveled through Rozhke - Szeged - Budapest in 2006 and I see the motorway already reached the border. Now it's the Serbs who must continue it on their territory.

Do somebody know, how long will be free the M43 from the M5 junction? To the road 47 or till the other side of the Tisza?

I dont know, but it would be practical to make it free across the Tisza...

I think 432 will help to reduce the traffic of Szeged and on the east side it would be too far from the city. 432 is quasi an item of a ring-road system around Szeged!

[QUOTE=H123Laci;53648629] do not drink poison for the M9...

Yes, I said 2020+ on the top, it can be 2200

But I'm optimist, in the last 10 years so many things happened and built. In 2002 we couldn't imagine that M5 will reach the state border in 2006 (65 km). In 2004 when a short part of the Szeged 1st circular road was reconstructed because of the tragical condition tram track we could't imagine that in 2006 a large project will start to rebuild all of the 3 tram lines, build a brand new tram line, build two new trolleybus lines, rebuild the two depots, etc.

that future M5-M43-M9 junction looks very interesting, I always wondered how that's gonna look like. You can see the basic design from how M43 is built, there's some space left out for the junction, but can anyone find a closer look of the plans?

There are already gossips about that the Dunaújváros-Szekszárd section will only be opened at mid April.

Do Hungarians ever refer to their national roads with a letter prefix when speaking (like B5 in Germany or N-340 in Spain), as they refer to their motorways with an M? Or do they always say "Road no. 5"/"5. sz. főút" instead? I know they don't display a letter with the number in the green pentagon symbol.

Also, for the new sections of M6 and M60 that are expected to open in a few weeks, are the interchange names and numbers known? I'm looking for a list of those.

"M" means Magyarország = Hungary

And "5. sz. főút" means "main road number 5"

sz.= számú = number

1,No,we refer to them by their number and thier rank (main rod 8,secondary road 805)

2,We dont really name junctions. Exit numbers are quite chaotic and useless IMHO,and I dont know anyone who uses them. People I know call them "Gödöllő exit,Siófok exit, etc".

No,actually "M" most probably refers to "Műút".

I don't think it so.

Műút could be a normal road too, if I see the meaning of mű.
But the highways in Europe have the letter after the country or the translated name of highway.

I always thought M meant Magyarország (Hungarian for Hungary), regardless of the road is a motorway or a regular highway.
