This is the section that's gonna be opened in October (we do not know the exact date though). Phase I. is 6,7 km long.
Phase II. with the Ferenc Móra Tisza bridge is between Main road 47 and local road 4413. (M43 - 47. számú főút – 4413. jelű összekötő út benne a Tisza-híddal (9+700 – 18+400 km szelvények között)) and it's 8,7 kms long.
Based on the status report, the bridge is still not even connected in the middle...
Phase III. with the Makó bypass is between local roads 4413 and 4415. (M43 - 4413. jelű összekötő út – 4415. jelű összekötő út között (18+400 – 34+600 km szelvények között)) This section will be also inaugurated in October as well. It's 16,2 km long.
Yes, the report is a bit difficult to follow mainly when it's mentioning phase II, but otherwise it's completely clear about phase III.

New information from the National Infrastructure Developer... The two sides of the Ferenc Móra M43 bridge over the Tisza river were connected during the weekend... Still no new opening date but it should be pretty close to the end of the year...

The 90 km/h speed limit is temporary.

Why is the temporary speed limit just 90 km/h? Like Struma.

Struma is not a motorway, everyone knows who visits the BG topic, except Radi
But I'm sure the crashbarriers are not as shiny as Struma's ones.

Unused asphalt is too slippery when new. I know some sections in the Netherlands had 90 km/h limits for 3 months for traffic to "roughen" the surface, but it depend on traffic volumes.

Hungarian daily economic newspaper (Napi Gazdaság) made an overview on the topic of motorways not reaching the borders yet. M2, M3, M30, M35-M4, and M43. They left out M6...

They interviewed someone (no source was given) from the National Development Ministry about the future plans.

It seems that even I know more of the status of motorway developments in the surrounding countries (especially Romania and Slovakia) than the journalist and/or the anonymous source...

The article says the motorway most likely to reach the border first (before 2015) from the mentioned bunch above is the M35 on the Debrecen bypass-Berettyójfalu-Bors-A3 section, since the Romanians are already building the A3 between Bors and Suplacu de Barcău, even if it's way behind schedule.

Can somebody tell me what's the situation of the section Nagytarcsa and Godollo between M0 and M3? What's the situation of the new M0 interchange with M5?

M31 (Nagytarcsa - Gödöllő) is open for traffic since the end of July.

New M0 section between M5 and road 51 is supposed to be finished this year, but it's just not gonna happen. Archeologists are still working on certain sections, so there will be a lot of delay. Second half of 2011, probably.

Unfortunately Google Maps is hopelessly out of date in terms of Hungarian motorways:

- M31 missing (open for several months)
- M6 down to Pécs missing (open for almost a year)
- M7 last section, the bridge over the river to Croatia missing (open for almost two years)
