Well, there's something else even more interesting for Romania: M44.
Guys, M44 will be an expressway or a motorway? Wikipedia says motorway; still, Wiki is not always very reliable.

I know, I know . I wanted to put a after quoting the M44, but I gave up. If I remember corectly there were some discussions few years ago concerning the connection of M44 with the romanian Arad - Oradea expressway (that was planned in 2007-2008 but never built) near Gyula/Varsand - Chisineu Cris.

But still, M43 is important because hopefully in 2013 we will connect to it with our A1.

All full profile or half? i gues the M30 will be built at the beginning only in half profile.

the list is for the sections where they begin preparataions, i should think the Mako-Nagylak M43 section has already been prepared

according to the linked communique, almost all of the planning is done and the archeological work is underway, M43 should stretch till the border by spring 2013

---

M44 is a HUGE mistake at this stage of the development, considering the traffic is below 8k

I don't get it. Why Lepsény? Why not Székesfehérvár? This way the cross-country motorway will go in a zig-zag! I mean from Dunaújváros to Lepsény, than to the north on M7, take a left at Székesfehérvár, and than continue westbound on M8? Or the Main road 71-710-72 route will be upgraded/widened as well?

This is why Lepsény:

The 1st, red variant will be built, far away from székesfehérvár. Main road 710 will be part of it.
Here is the plan in bugger resolution.

its a tough one, but the red variant won me over

first, m4/8 is for east-west traffic so it should be as straight as possible so the straight line from dunaujvaros to veszprem is better
second, balaton east side will require a 2x2
third, szentkiralyszabadja airport
and finally, main road 62 along with 81 and 13 will provide a 2x2 in the long run from komarom to dunaujvaros

Fresh press release from the National Infrastructure Developer! It's still hot!

Deadline for the construction of the Móra Ferenc bridge and the second section of M43 is the 16th of March 2010. If everything goes as planned, and there are no quality issues, M43 (Szeged-Makó) will be opened on the last days of April.
