Deadline for the construction of the Móra Ferenc bridge and the second section of M43 is the 16th of March 2010. If everything goes as planned, and there are no quality issues, M43 (Szeged-Makó) will be opened on the last days of April.

If the bridge is supposed to be completed on March 16, why is the opening only in late April? AFAIK almost everything is completed on M43, except for the Tisza Bridge.

Well, the map is priceless. Köszönöm szépen!
And as far I can understand - if Google's translation is reliable - the drainage system won't be ready very soon, so that's the answer for bogdymol, am I right?

Indeed, the article says they will continue to work on the drainage system over the summer.

It's only a pumping station which is in the same project, but it has no influence on the motorway inaugurating. It will be done when the floods will go away in spring.

btw some more detailed maps about M43:
between road 47 - 4413
between road 4413 - 4415(Makó)
between road 4413 - RO border

Thank you for the drawings! In return, you can see here how the future A1 should look like beyond HU/RO border, between Nagylak/Nădlac and Arad. Hopefully in two years from now.

A sample, just near the border:

Useful post nenea_hartia ! Thank you!

Some new information came up in connection with the u/c M85 Enese bypass!

The constructions on the Enese bypass are to be finished in August. The inauguration is pulled back due to of some onforseen additional archaeological excavation says the NIF in the just came out press release.

First I thought the archeological works are just lame excuses to cover up financial problems at the Vegyépszer Zrt(as it happened earlier), but it turned out that this time the mentioned company is not even part of the construction consortium.

Yeah, I have and I completely understand!

We don't have the sea or even Balaton so we built dams like Gabčíkovo, Liptovská Mara etc., hmm but you can't make electricity in these tunnels.

It seems to develop several links with Romania is very important for the new Hungarian government. Someone is pushing forward M44 very-very much.

The construction scheduled to start in 2012 between Kecskemét and Tiszakürt as a 2x2 expressway (110 Km/h).

Other sections are under preparation as well.

It might be an issue with the beta version of Mozilla Firefox 4 which I'm using. I tried to see them using IE instead and now they show.
Thanks for the pm, panda80, sometimes I forget that IE still exists.

@ Nyuszi: great news for us, thank you!

No, these Picasa pics are usually visible after reloading (either in Firefox or IE). They had this problem already 3 years ago, and that is why I switched to Flickr.

Well, I see you're right. Everything goes smooth now even with my Firefox 4 Beta.

Can someone estimate what capital will be reached by a motorway from Budapest first: Kiew or Bukarest? I mean the rest of Hungarys neighbouring countrys capitals can be reached on at least 2x1 expressways if I'm not mistaken (Ljubjana, Bratislava), and Belgrade will be 2x2 this year.

(okay, I can estimate quite good when romanian motorways are getting ready, but I have absolutely no clue how it looks like in the Ukraine. However I guess polish A4 will be the first motorway ever to connect Ukraine with the rest of Europe.)
