It seems that motorway construction has slowed significantly since 2009/2010. Apart from M43, are there any motorway completions in 2011?

Nice quality pictures! I like them.

The only thing what I don't understand is that why you didn't go via M6 at Érd. It's 2 minutes shorter!

I think yes but no paving works have started yet. Only some overpasses and mass of ground works. But M0 widening between M6 and M1 will be opened this year.

But as far as I know M44 isn't U/C at the moment.

To answer your question, it would transform into "szvvár", which would shorten into "szvár", as "f" and "v" are consonant pairs, and they get similar to each other if placed adjacent to each other. Its quite hard to explain in english a grammatical feature that I think doesnt exist in it.

I understand. And it's not just "v", but also "sz" (English "s") that makes you pronounce "f" more like "v" (I pronounce "asphalt" more like "asvalt"). So "Szfvár" would be a nightmare to pronounce strictly as it is.

Is this 2x2 section going to be part of the future M8 motorway one day? According to this plan, that's the route of M8:

No, that map shows the new road nr. 710 in black which will be part of future M8.

M8 will connect Veszprém and Dunaújváros on a shorter way near Balaton:

http://www.roads.freeweb.hu/road_pla...unaujvaros.jpg

This road (8) is a main road with expressway charasteristics. The upgrade of the whole Veszprém-Szfvár road to dual carriageway (110 kmph) with ground separated ICs and median is projected.

Szfvár-(Szöfövár) or Fehérvár. Everybody knows (Hungary) Fehérvár as capitol of county of Fejér as Székesfehérvár.
