I like this bridge. It has a great appearance. I hope the emergency lanes are wide enough to eventually rebuild it to a 2x4 configuration. Budapest is big, and i might generate much more traffic in the future than is calculated now. I see these problems all the time in my country.

Logic statement... The M0 beltway around Budapest is finished on the southern side, but it was designed to be a 2*2 expressway. Today its totally out of date, and its called the biggest parking-lot of Hungary. This part of the M0 couldn't be extended, so our government decided to build a new modern highway with 2*3+emergency lanes on 7 kms between Main road 51and M5 highway,a new southern Danube bridge will connect this new section of highway to the today operational but in the future extended (2*2 ->2*3 lanes) part of the M0 between M1 highway and the Danube river.
I don't really have any idea what will happen to the current lanes though...

Constructions planed to start in the fall of 2008, or the spring of 2009.

SO WE WILL HAVE ONCE AGAIN A NEW DANUBE BRIDGE!!!

fabulous! You Hungarians know what bridge building is.

We build bridges on such a way that you can't even see you driving on one..

like this 600m one in my hometown.

Super-cool post BA!

I had no idea, Esztergom will have a motorway connection! When are they going to start building the bridge?

Yeah Budapest needs a ringroad badly. The city is huge, and i think i might take a lot of time travelling from the M1 to M3 without a ringroad.

I tried my best to fulfill my promise. All the signs from the M1-M7 common section. Unfortunately the quality is not really good. Photos taken via mobile phone...
As You'll see Ljubljana isn't shown on the traffic signs, only SLO. First Ljubljana is shown about 22 kms from Budapest on the M7.

Cool car...

Huhh... That was a lot...

^ Oh, boy. Don't you put accent on "u" anyway? Like Ljúbljana? I mean, not written form, only the pronunciation.

that "accent" doesn't mean real accent, that means lenght. and it is not neccessary because in hungarian the first sylable is allways stressed. ´ should come to first "a". so, Lyublyána would be read something like "Ljúbljano". as far as i know, á is never at the end of the word (i'm not sure, but i think so).

^ I said NOT written form, but pronunciation! So, the accent is on "u" (Ljúbljana - pronunciation!). Actually I'm sure about it, b/c we have that Hungarian TV program on TV Slovenia, and I've already heard the pronunciation of Ljubljana a few times. (Ljuuuuuuuubljana)
