The new section is just few kms... So no need to rename it...

Oh, now I see! Thanks!

Earlier post from me:

This part of the M0 couldn't be extended, so our government decided to build a new modern highway with 2*3+emergency lanes on 7 kms between Main road 51 and M5 highway,a new southern Danube bridge will connect this new section of highway to the today operational but in the future extended (2*2 ->2*3 lanes) part of the M0 between M1 highway and the Danube river.
I don't really have any idea what will happen to the current lanes though...

Constructions planed to start in the fall of 2008, or the spring of 2009.

SO WE WILL HAVE ONCE AGAIN A NEW DANUBE BRIDGE!!!

I know the western part of the M0 was built about 10 years ago. How about the eastern part of it? That one is older.

Ok...

Western section of the M0: Main road 11-M1-M6
Southern: M6-M5
Eastern: M5-Main road 4-M3
Northern: M3 - Main road 11

Eastern section between M5 and Main road 4 was finished last year. The other part from Main road 4 untill M3 will be finished spring or mid 2008.

Lol, no! I meant the western part of the southern (existing) part. I mean, between M1 and main road 51, or somewhere there (and I mean the existing M0, not its new variant). This one was built about 10 years ago, whereas east of that (I mean only to M5! but the old part of the M0!) was built earlier. When?

1988: M5-Main road 51
1990: Main road 51 - Main road 6 (NOT M6)
1996: Main road 6 - M7 - M1
1998: M3 - Main road 2
2005: M5 - Main road 4

Today M0 is not continous at the M5. From the new interchange you have to drive few kms on the M5 motorway to get to the old interchange.

Thanks! And yes, I meant the main road 6, not 51, although as I can see, also this road was a "border" between 1988 and 1990, I didn't know that. I looked here, and when I clicked "Idővonal", it showed the entire section of the M0 between M5 and M1 was opened in 1994, which I knew it couldn't be true. Also this date seemed unreal to me as I was there in 1996 (in summer) and don't remember M0 intersecting M7. But it was already open when I was there in 1998. Anyway, thanks again!

Driving home on the M7... I hope the opposite lanes will be extended to 3 like this side some day in the near future...

The M7 from Székesfehérvár:

(Photos taken via mobile phone.)

BTW: Opening ceremony of the Köröshegy viaduct: 2007.08.14.!!!
The highway parts are completed already, only the viaduct needs its final layer...
