I love it, they had to take motorway instead of the old road
I hope they paid for the vignette before arriving in HU via convenient online-system
1683 all over again? LOL

Let's see what happens, the whole situation is weird I think. Hungary is criticised for closing the border with Serbia, and also for letting the refugees go West. I think the EU politicians should find out what they want very soon, to avoid any further problems.

There are like thousands of people and a few police. What can you do, shoot at them?

Come on! Police saw where they go, at least they expected. What`s the problem to direct them to proper road in ordet to avoid M1? I expect that Police have enough forces to do it, ofcourse in a civilized way I mean without the injured and/or harmed.

There is no civilised way.
Refugees explicitly refused the leave the motorway. So either the police attacks them (and then you'll see in every television channels of the world, how cruel the Hungarian police is), or let them walking there.

I like the picture though
Do you see how the resting people have stayed to the right side
and faster traffic (woman with pram) are passing to the left ?

Maybe we should welcome them faster, they know how to use motorway properly

It's probably to attract some more attention. It's much better for headlines if you have several thousand people walk on a motorway than some rural two-lane road.

Germany recently installed some warning signals for pedestrians on A3 near the Austrian border. Apparently they have pedestrians on motorways as well.

The hungarian police announced that they will close M1 rather than force the refugees to leave it.

Yes, you have right, there is no way to stop them it is more easy to escort them to prevent any problems.

I think the hungarian police (I personally don't like them), isn't that cruel...

It would be so amusing if they got confused of Hungarian road system looking for sign "Wien" and ended up on M0 for 3 weeks going around and around

It isn't possible as M0 isn't a proper ring road maybe 20 years later we will finish to build the missing part between M1 and national road 11. Next year maybe we will start to build something between national road 11 and 10.

I think M0 wo't be finished soon

It's illegal to walk on the motorway, these people have no right to stop traffic and create chaos on the motorways.

The hungarian police should have prevented these people from entering the motorway. Call in the army, water-canons, put up fences.

If one person walks on the motorway he's arrested by the police.
If 1000 people walk on the motorway it's ok ?

The answer is really easy:

1. The laws deny to use the army for interior issues
2. There isn't enough police force to control the Serbian borders, the refugee camps, the railway stations, etc... It is easier to let them walk
3. Our prime minister starts to play chicken game with the western part of the EU.

The austrian-hungarian border at the M1 motorway is closed by the austrian authorities. The jam is about 15-20 km long from Budapest. The suggested detour is via M15 and Bratislava to Wien.

Update: The government will not stop the marches, but migrants are not allowed to walk on motorways, only on other main roads. (E.g. main road #1)
